The current situation for same-sex marriages is not looking god for those who support it. 62 percent of the American population believes that same-sex marriages should not be recognized. Also, over half the states have outlawed same-sex marriages, even though Ñ*ths of the population is otherwise supportive of the rights for homosexual people.
The people who oppose same-sex marriage believe that homosexuality is ruining society, and they often drag God or some other high power being into it. They will claim that it is a sin to be homosexual. As far as I can tell, the people who belong to the Christian religion are the ones who say this the most.
The people who support same-sex marriage believe that homosexual people have the right to get married to whoever they want to. There arent many religious groups that support same-sex; actually, most of the religious groups oppose it. But there are many other groups who are happy to support same-sex marriages. A couple of examples of these groups are the American Civil Liberties Union, Human Rights Watch, and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance against Defamation.
I myself, well, I support same-sex marriages. I think its wrong that people are denying these people rights, just because they have a different sexual orientation, or because they think its a sin, or whatever. I have nothing wrong with gay people and other people shouldnt either.
I hope one day I get to see same-sex marriages legalized all over the nation. That would be really great, because we can get married, why not them? We all are human, they have rights too.
