Assignment of Reflective PracticeA leader is the person who leads his/her followers, a group, organization, or country. Leaders of today must possess those traits which will help them to motivate others and lead them in new directions. These traits may include: social boldness, dominance, emotional stability etc. I would like to develop the most important aspect of leadership that is to fulfill the commitments in time, which I already have made to others. Here, I would like to share my personal experience in a school of India during my teaching profession in the year of 2016, when I observed that many Indian parents do not keep their promises/ commitments, which they usually make in front of the school authorities regarding their children’s study progress. Nowadays, parents usually spend their time by developing social networks and by indulging themselves in the endless gossip. They do not bother about their children’s study and at the moment, when their children are failing at school, then the parents blame teachers for the poor performance/grades of their wards. This was happened to me, when I was a teacher. One of the parents had made my complaints to the head of the institution for securing poor grades by his ward in his study and paid disrespect to me. According to him, I was at fault for his ward’s poor performance. But in actual, he did not pay attention and fulfill his commitment towards his ward’s performance. So, the parents should be held responsible for not fulfilling their commitments towards their children’s study. The rational why I would like to develop this skill of leadership is that if I am 100% committed with my promises, only then others will remain loyal to me and go out of their way to help me. Eventually, it would be helpful for me to achieve great things. If I would improve my leadership in this area, then I can perform each and every task in time. By developing this skill, I can create trust, demonstrate transparency and achieve the best results in my life. In this way, I can become a better leader.
