Induction Plan
INTRODUCTION:Induction is a technique by which a new employee is rehabilatated into his surroundings and introduced to practices, policies and purpose of the organization.The main reasons to conduct a properly induction programme is not only because it help to new staff to integrate quickly in the team or for better performance, it is because is one of the best way to retain employee in the organizatio for a long time.STAFF INDUCTION PLAN:1 week in advance of start date:The line manager should make sure everything is ready to welcoming the new staff. Firstly, has to prepare the work area and confirm that a desk and all equipment is available for the new user. Also,  Line Manager has to contact with the new employee (by calling or email) in order to set a date for the first induction session and give him the last indications before his arriving. Finally, he has to inform all staff of the new coworker, agree meeting dates with them and give induction sheet relevant parties in charge  of conducting each induction session.First session: introduction to the companyThe orientation process in Repsol company is taken by the Human Resource Manager. Firstly, there is a initial meeting with the manager.After that, the employee is taken in a conference room to give in detail knowledge about the Repsol history, the organization mission and vision and the strategic and objectives of the work area.Then, the employee is explained about the job description: his role, responsibilities, level of authority and work priorities.Finally, all the departments and social areas are shown to the new employee such as offices, Labs or Catering Facilities. For instance, in Repsol Headquarters there is a great Cafeteria where their employee can buy a healthy and energetic meal for only 5,5 euros.
Second session: introduction to other members of the staffsIn the second session, the line manager introduce new workers to their team colleagues explaining who they are and what their role is turn, for instance: fist the members of his team, then  people responsible for human resources and/or training, the health and safety officer or trade union or employee representatives. Moreover, if it is appropriate, he introduce to other teams within the work area.Third session: discussion the terms and conditionIn this part, the line Manager should make sure that the new employee has viewed and understood information contained in the Information for New Employees this contains important information on terms and conditions. That is why, it  is a good idea to go through this during the induction and give them details of issues such as:-Information about pay day:-Sickness and holiday procedures: Give basic information about how to report sickness and absence giving the name and telephone number of the person to be contacted, by what time and what information will be needed.
