TNB core business includes Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Energy Ventures. Energy Ventures Division formerly known as New Business and Major Projects Division was set up in September 2012.Energy Ventures focuses on business opportunities of TNB’s non-regulated business locally and internationally. The division will oversee and consolidate all business development roles and services under one roof to capitalise on the Group’s extensive knowledge and capabilities in providing a range of energy-related services.To support TNB’s aspiration to become a domestic dominance and regional champion (DDRC) by growing profitable non-regulated business, four strategic objectives were identified. There are to increase TNB’s local generation market share by participating in competitive bids sponsored by the Energy Commission (EC), to ensure efficient local power project execution to meet future energy demand, to grow profitable non-regulated power-related businesses by aggressively pursuing business opportunities in sectors related to the energy industry and to expand TNB’s international presence by growing hubs in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The TNB organisational chart as Figure 1: Energy Ventures Division core department includes Corporate Transaction Group, Major Projects, International Business and Business Support Department. Business Support Department is formed to ensure the successful implementation of the Our Division such as Business Strategy and Analysis, Division Operation, Finance, Human Resource & Admin Services, Marketing, Procurement and Transformation.A well-structured Transformation programme has been outlined to realize TNB’s aspiration to become a strong leader at home while growing as a regional champion. The new division is entrusted to be the engine of growth for TNB’s international and domestic non-regulated business. Hence, the Transformation department is formed to drive and administer the successful implementation of the “Key Results Area 4: Grow profitable New Business” and to reshape the organization in order to address the new challenges. More than 30 initiatives have been identified to discover exciting new business opportunities, develop effective implementation and monitoring mechanism and ascertain optimal organizational requirements in order to develop an entrepreneurial spirit within Energy Ventures. Energy Ventures intends to emerge as a dynamic business unit through of the 5 sub KRAs:

Office LayoutWork that needs to be executed for each type of tasks requires the necessary equipment within the allotted space. The office layout has to be designed in such a way that it is comfortable as well as functional. An efficient office layout should ensure that the procedures involved in completing different tasks are quick and effective. This layout consider the required information flow and also take into account any paper distribution, face-to-face interaction and telecommunications that form part of the smooth operation of an office.Working EnvironmentThe working environment in TNB Energy Ventures is from 8.00 am to 5.15 pm every day. TNB also encourage the staff to participate in work life balance through the program Total Welness. This program is held at 4.00 pm every Friday. In our company, we practice Line Structure organizational. Direct authority flows vertically from the top hierarchical levels, through the middle levels and on to the bottom levels. Staff authorities’ means authority to advice, support and serve the line managers. All managerial functions are practiced by line authority with the help of specialized skill of staff authority. The direct authority characteristics of the line structure make each employee directly responsible for the performance of designated duties. The top level managers are not overloaded with work. Staff specialists give relief in critical matters. All problems are handled with care and are tries to solve with the help of staff specialists.Working Area The working area designed in TNB is based on Open Office Concept. Modular Work Station Approach[pic 4]Figure 3Mostly company used modular work station including TNB as Figure 3. It is especially well suited for those situations that require considerable storage space, and the work area can be specifically designed around the specific needs of the user. The characteristic as per below:Incorporate generic planning, modular space standards, generic workstation footprints and generic furniture profiles, finishes and characteristics. Plan layouts for consistency with a building’s structural grid and the modular dimensions of ceilings and facades. Modular workstations are designed according to the specific job duties of their occupants.Changes in layout can be made easily and quickly.Workstation modular footprint dimensions are limited to: 1800mm x 1800mm 1800mm x 2100mm 2100mm x 2100mm 2100mm x 2700mm Private officePrivate office should be provided only on a demonstrated needs basis rather than by classification. The number of enclosed offices should be minimised to maximise the options for adapting the office layout to new ways of working in future.
