My knowledge of English was verybasic but I wanted to continue as an accountant. I attended Cambridge Academy of English (CAE) to improve my language and at the same time I took Computerized Accounting courses teaching Sage Line 50 accounting methods, which is widely used by UK companies. I started looking for a job and struggled to find one. My problem was – a foreign degree and experience. I was overqualified for supermarket employers and without UK qualifications for bookkeeping. As the years pasted by, I decided to join the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) at Cambridge Regional College. Adding a few lines in my resume – wow a position at Cambridge Publishing Management Ltd (CPM) came along.
I enjoy working as a bookkeeper in a small highly skilled book production company. Mycompany specializes in the complete project management of trade, travel, educational andvocational titles from manuscript through to final production files ready for the printer.I have worked with CPM for 4.5 years and realized that I want to be more knowledgeable inbusiness management. I thought an MBA would be the best choice for developing these skills.What do you expect to gain from completing your MBA program?In the same way, my wardrobe is full of clothes and I have nothing to wear, my head is full of thoughts and ideas about CPM, but I do not know a professional way to bring them to life. I want people to value and consider my opinion as an expert asset. I would love to have a professional competence in decision-making and
I have read numerous research reports about CPM and the job-killing experience of it. My job description for myself is as an information systems professional that I do not want to put at risk in the future.
Have you talked to the right people or been offered the right job yet to complete your MBA?I’ve never had the opportunity to meet with any of the top candidates I’ve come across before even taking an email. I am still waiting to hear back from the person who offered me a unique opportunity.
What have you learned that will benefit you in your new career?When it comes to the most important things in life I always say: if you have money and don’t have it with you, you either don’t have a job or a loved one and you don’t have the money, you can spend it just like I did.The more time I spend actively trying to build connections and value – and the more I find good people that connect over a wide range of fields, the bigger my life gets. I feel safe in saying that I have a lot in common with other companies that take great care of their employees/careers but not too many.CPM has a lot to offer for us that don’t make us look like the average MBA graduates (and probably don’t), and our own values make you wonder what will make you so happy to spend more, or make more. I like being around business people and their values to start a conversation within or with them regarding my vision, and to share what I know/want from them with them.I also feel that, once the work gets done, it will be a great experience to see so much that other businesses find out that I have something I might not have otherwise seen.I think we have to do better and more openly about what we are doing. It’s very important for many companies that want to invest in the education of their employees and workers as we are the only institution that has the opportunity to take advantage of this talent. I have always found that employees are really smart, passionate and independent when it comes to their experiences on the road to succeed (read my TED talk at the end of my interview for that). I think this has the potential to revolutionize our way of thinking, thinking and working the way we want. I will continue to bring these values and principles to our companies to build partnerships and build connections with our employees. I believe CPM’s experience as a top recruiter will help to grow the organization over the long term.One thing I want to acknowledge about our company and community is that there is such a large talent base in every country around the globe. I often think about how much we need to change within our industry in order to find the talent to create jobs. CPM brings in the world’s best talent, bringing them in large numbers and getting them to do the things so they can keep this community flowing for them every day.We have seen that our community is growing. For example, we have seen that in the last three years over 1000 jobs have been created in the CPM community over the Internet and social media. I’m hoping our current growth trend proves something to other CPM cities that you can’t have any part
