Julius Caesar is about the rise, fall, and murder of Julius Caesar and the life of Rome and its conspirators. It was written by William Shakespeare. The so called leader of his death was his friend Brutus. What would cause him to kill such a close friend? After reading about Brutus relationship with Caesar, how important he is to the plot, and his involvement in the conspiracy, you might understand why.
Brutus was a close friend to Caesar. He had a good relationship with him and an even better one with Rome. Brutus loved Caesar, maybe in a very gay way, but was scared of his power. In the beginning Brutus said, “What means this shouting? I do fear the people do choose Caesar for their kingyet I love him well.”(act I). Brutus didnt want Caesar to take the thrown and then turn his back on the people. After they killed Caesar, Brutus said, “Our hearts you see not; they are pitiful; and pity to the general wrong of Rome”(act III). Again, this shows how Brutus loved Caesar but loved Rome more. I think its the only reason Brutus turned against Caesar.
If Brutus wasnt in Julius Caesar, the conspiracy probably wouldnt of worked. If he hadnt loved Rome more than Caesar then he wouldnt of helped kill Caesar. The conspirators wouldnt of been able to do it by themselves because they didnt have Brutus as an excuse. The people would of thought that Caesars death was pointless. If Brutus wasnt in the play you probably wouldnt even consider it THE TRAGEDY of Julius Caesar.
Brutus had a very important part in the conspiracy against Caesar. He was kind of an excuse for the murder because the people would think, since Brutus is friends with Caesar, that killing him must have a good reason. Brutus was also the leader of the conspiracy as Cassius said, “Brutus shall lead the way, and we will grace his heels with the most boldest and best hearts of Rome.”
