Chapter 1 (Introduction to OM) : It introduces the individuals with operational management. This chapter summarizes the entire functions and the components of OM which are described in details in the later chapters.
Chapter 2 (Competitiveness, Strategy and Productivity): The competitive advantages in operation over the competitors, production strategy, and details about productivity are discussed in this chapter. The strategies and policies for which a equilibrium is created between input and output are included in the discussion.
Chapter 3 (Forecasting): One of the most important aspects of operational activity is forecasting. It is the structural and analyzed quantitative prediction of the amount of raw materials to store and supply in alignment with the demand in market. Forecasting on the sales and managing to produce the required amount in future is the main purpose of the chapter.
Chapter 4 (Product and Service design): Product itself and the design of the service is the most important aspect of operational management.
