There is a severe drug problem throughout the world today. Children, no older than ten years old,
are being used to sell drugs on the streets. Statistics show that in 2009, 37,485 people died of drug
overdose, which was more than traffic fatalities. Columbia is the worlds leading producer of cocaine
while the United States is the largest consumer. Cocaine and marijuana are smuggled into the country.
Sixty five percent of the cocaine and forty five percent of marijuana smuggled in over the U.S. –
Mexico border and a vast majority enters through Florida.
Cocaine is smuggled in large kilogram quantities across the border by carriers known as mules. The
drugs are usually strapped to their waist, legs or hidden in bags and sometimes hidden in their body. If
the mule gets caught, the gang they are associated with will sever all ties to the mule and the mule will
usually stand trial for trafficking, alone.
Usually the mules used are women. These women are mostly blackmailed or threatened and have no
other choice but to carry drugs across the border. The women know that if they are caught and if they
sell out the gangs, their lives would be in jeopardy and so would the lives of their loved ones.
I believe that one way we can reduce the drug trade is to reduce the demand for them. If less
people want drugs, the production will decrease and the prices will shoot up, thus, hampering the
consumption and production even more. The way Im suggesting is Mind Control.
Another technique of mind control is constant repetition. What happens is that on watching something
again and again produce an altered state of consciousness. We go into this state without realizing it
and it is at this point that our minds are extremely receptive to any information fed in. whether we act
on this information depends on two factors, trust in the source of the information and repetition.
Trust in the source induces acceptance of the information as true, even if it is not understood.
