“The Cell Phone Buffers This Moment”
My partner and I discussed about how teenagers are losing the ability to learn how to be independent thanks to the cell phones. Most parents give their children cell phones at a very young age to stay in contact with them at all times whenever their let their children go out to do things on their own. But most teenagers dont feel too happy about this because they say that by getting a cell phone, they basically losing their freedom to do and learn things on their own, because their parents are constantly checking on them. So as they grow these teenagers become so used to being in contact with their parents and asking them for anything they need help with through their cell phones that when it comes a time when they need help with anything and they dont have a cell phone or anything to contact their parents with they basically panic and they dont know what to do.

My partner totally agrees with this because she says she has being having a phone since she was twelve. She says her parents gave her a phone because she started taking the bus to school and her parents wanted to stay in contact with her just to make sure she was doing okay. She says that her parents were constantly texting her or calling her but she got used to this. Then one time when she when to the store that was down the street to buy a cd as she was walking down the street she realized she forgot her cell phone and at that moment she says she didnt know what to do. In addition, she also says that even now her mom is always texting her to see what she is doing or if she is going to go home for dinner and other things. She also says that it feels weird when her mom does not text her, she feels that something is wrong.

In my opinion I cant say I relate to what we were discussing about because my parents have never been that way with me. I was fifteen when I first got a cell phone but my parents would never try to call me all the time or nothing like that. I could even say that it looks really weird to me whenever Im texting with my parents. I dont know if that is because I am a guy, or it just depends on the type of parents that one has.
