Business Process Outsourcing (bpo) Case
People nowadays find their jobs either as a blessing or as a curse. Whether it brings support for their needs, or just satisfying their wants, it is still their job which gives them the idea that life is worth fighting for. The early comparison between working a job and working a career is a rampant ideology on how an individual could earn his/her money.

But for some Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) agents working in a graveyard shift, it is clear to them that when they accept and pursue their jobs in BPO companies, the risks on their health and safety are truly significant. The call center job in the Philippines is offering hefty salary and benefits to those willing Filipinos who take the nigh shift job. However, recent rise in health problems and concerns suggests that it’s taking its toll on the call center agent’s health both physically and mentally. They are facing sleep disorders, heart diseases, depressions, and family discords. The question now is whether the high paying job is commensurate to the hazards it poses to the call center agents. It is detrimental for the call center agents to go on working with their jobs, which costs are greater than of its benefits. But with the current notion about it, many are still interested to be a part of BPO industry. Many are still hooked to the idea that once they’ve been in the BPO industry, it’ll give them a sense of financial freedom, as well as uplifting themselves from the hideous life they’ve been into.

Arriving at an industry wherein workers don’t necessarily feel deprived of anything is what the society would always want. But as long as the law on demand and supply is present, it will haunt the call center agents from its obligations to do their jobs, even if their health and safety could be put on the line.
