In the poem Anecdote of the Jar, the author Wallace Stevens examines the difficulty of vision opposed to the undertaking of creative mechanism. In the second quatrain of the poem it says, “The wilderness rose up to it, and sprawled around, no longer wild.” A theme that could be brought up from this quote along with the poem is dissenting repercussions of art can form on the truth of pure creativeness. Here it seems like the jar on the hill is slowly toppling the wilderness that is clearly at a time of chaos from which it cannot even save itself at the moment. The wilderness could be representing the ideas of what the artist is coming up with in his head to strive somehow and place all of the chaos going on into the jar. There should have been no reason why the authors point ought to prevail on face. As a Girl Scout since kindergarten and earning the Bronze and Silver awards, it has taught me to plan, lead and care about community service. It helped prepare me for my Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouts. My project was aimed at helping the parents of children at the Maria Fareri Childrens Hospital in Valhalla, NY. My goal was to deliver overnight comfort kits to the hospital, which included toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and lotion. Most parents arrive at the hospital in an emergency situation; they are unprepared for an overnight stay with their child. My purpose was to help ease their stress and take care of a minor detail so that they could focus on their family medical situation. My original goal was to produce 250 packages. With the help of friends, family, other Girl Scouts and my community, I organized a plan to obtain supplies, managed work teams, ordered materials and successfully delivered more then 500 overnight comfort packages.
