Organizational Behaviour Project 1PricewaterhouseCoopersAkash VashisthaSection 1: OverviewResearch InformationPricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (PwC) is one of the largest professional services company. It comprises a network of member firms which operate and provide services under the brand PricewaterhouseCoopers. The company is headquartered in London and has operations in 157 countries (PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited, Marketline Rutgers). PwC employees more than 180,000 people and focuses on audit and assurance, tax and consulting services that include – but are not limited to – human resources, deals forensics and consulting services ( PwC.com/US/about us).PwC’s learning culture where training and development opportunities deepen ones skills and the opportunity to expand network on a global scale developed my interest in the company. Furthermore, friendly atmosphere, small projects where you get the opportunity to learn hands on with senior members of the firm be it partner, senior manager and manager,  gives a perspective of what you are doing and how is it getting connected to the bigger picture drives me to work and learn every day. PwC helps employees achieve not only their professional goals but also help them build life time relationships and give them the resources to create an impact in the world we live in (Dhaval’s Interview). With regards to organizational culture, PwC professionals are at the heart of business strategy and success. They recruit top talent with a focus on diversity and inclusion, arm them withthe tools—including enriching professional experiences, everyday coaching, timely and productive feedback, and high-quality learning and development opportunities—to deliver against everyday commitment. PwC has chosen three core values – Excellence, Teamwork and Leadership as the basis of global corporate culture. These values define how they conduct business and help them create value for clients, people and the organisation. (PwC website)(b) OB Concept ApplicationAs PwC is really diverse with operations in more than 150 countries, it is difficult to pick a management style approach that PwC follows. Although in my opinion PwC has a mix of Behavioural Theory (Theory Y) by Douglas McGregor (OB Notes 1, p17) and Modern Management by Peter Drucker (OB Notes 1, p19). In my opinion, the employees are trusted, self-driven and responsible where tasks are delegated without any micromanagement thus, Theory Y. And, people are the most valuable resource for PwC as they are in professional services, senior managements job is to train and develop these resources to perform. As a result, PwC has a code of conduct for all PwC people and firms. It is based on the three core values and also provides a frame of reference for PwC firms to establish more specific supplements to address territorial issues.
