Japan – This country is significant because it is the center of the development of brand new technology. This sparks issues around the world asking questions if were moving forward to fast.
New York City – This city is significant because it is the city that never sleeps. Therefore always having news coming out of the city. It is the city that was hit the worst by the 9/11 attacks. Meaning issues about that come out all the time.
Afghanistan – This country is significant because it was the start of the whole war on terrorism. It still makes news as it still has troops searching for Osama Bin Laden.
Rome – This city is significant because it has some of the oldest historic buildings in the world. It sparks controversy because there are concerned historians worrying about the state of the buildings and if they should be restored. Therefore making a fight to leave them alone or not.
Gaza Strip – This area of land is significant because it is the center of an endless battle for religious rights. There is always something in the news about the Israelis attacking the Palestinians or the Palestinians attacking the Israelis over land that has religious value to both countries.
Havana – This city is significant because it was the center of the cold war back in the 50s as Fidel Castros man camp was in Havana. Therefore all major news surrounding Fidel Castro and his health are major world issues because he is soon ending his run at life.
