Age really doesnt Matter

“Age doesnt matter” has been heard every now and then especially when people talk about the opposite sex relationship. Its the perfect line when a couple has a gap in the age bracket. But my column isnt about the same old love stories. Because the way I see it, I think this context has more relevance than that of love only.
Introducing yourself during the first day of school is never a new tradition in the premises of Capitol University, especially in the College of Business Administration. Even if youve already known your current block mates or even if youve already been Facebook friends for quite some time with your instructor, you just have to do it. Its somewhat like a culture whenever classes start. But whenever I stand up in front of the whole class and start talking about that ‘memorized piece and begins with a, “Good afternoon everyone. My name is Korrine Frances S. Alarcon and Im 17 years old ..”, everyone just cant believe that Im that young. Maybe because Im way taller than those of my age or maybe I just look that mature. But either way, I find it as a compliment whenever people mistake me for an older age and the question that goes, “17 pa ka? Pag sure ui,” is never a new sound to my ears.
Yes, Im still young. Im still young to be in the third year of college. Im a wee bit young to know the hard facts and realities in life. You might not even believe the things I have undergone. Im still young to know things that are ought to be known only by the grown – up people.
