I work in a truck stop with people who only do the actual work they were hired for when the managers are there keeping an eye on them. The attention that is payed to the customer is very minimal and frankly quite rude. They sit down at every opportunity, and walk like a zombie when they do have to move. And on a few occasions I have seen the other employees roll their eyes when a customer comes in the store, almost as if they are interrupting them. This type of behavior I have noticed seems to be different among the different age groups of people who work there. It is mainly among the younger generations, although I have seen it with the middle aged people there, it is primarily the young crowd. Being almost middle aged myself I can understand what the frustration is about. Why do I get payed the same as some of the employees, but have to pick up the slack they leave behind. And why do they continue to get away with it? You would think in this economy that people would give 120% just to be able to hold on to a job. I guess that is the difference between them and me, they dont have as many responsibilities and still live at home with mom and dad, where in my case I am mom, and have way more to shoulder then they do at this point in their life. I guess the saying is true that good help is hard to find.

Explain the implications of the work ethic Sheehy describes for the future of American business.Work ethic has a definition as reliability and trustworthiness, willingness to learn, responsibility for ones actions, willingness to work, and willingness to work cooperatively. It should be focused on beliefs, values and principles along with manners. These simple attributes can guide the way individuals act at work and the responsibilities that they are entrusted with at all times. The future American business is in for some trouble. How is the American business going to survive with employees who are lazy, dishonest and willing to walk over who ever gets in their way to the top?

I will tell you how I think, they wont unless they have allot of immigrants working there. In other countries, even here in America (long ago) if you dont work, then you dont eat or have a roof over your head. The immigrants who come to this country have a much better work ethic then our own citizens do, why? Because in their country if you dont work you die, because starvation is a real possibility! They have a great work ethic passed down from generation to generation. They come to work do their fair share and usually go to another job after wards. Americans no longer have to face the fact that if they dont work they dont eat or have a place to live anymore. We have a fail safe, its called welfare. Immigrants have a tendency to build up their household so that the next generation can go to college and not be forced to do menial jobs to live they can do something to make the family proud. Americans need to learn the lessons of an immigrants work ethic. Or learn a new work

SierraKraken posted on May 25, 2016, 2:17 pm, You are right about the lack of jobs happening in the United States. Even in cities, a significant number of people lack jobs, because they have no formal education to find one.

I think I am wrong about a lack of employment so I don’t think you need to look around me to figure it out either. Many jobs and a whole lot of living in an economy are not good for you. That being said, I understand what you mean, but the problem is as people become unemployable, and get divorced (i.e. start their own businesses and not get a full salary to keep them going) this situation comes, which is very common in many parts of the United States.

In the United States, you get your start from having a job that costs no more than 5% to 6 weeks. In this nation, you also get a much better career for your family, and better income for your business (i.e. less debt, less money at home, etc.).

The difference between an educated adult who wants to get a job and a casual adult who doesn’t, is not in how hard they have to work.

(A) If they live anywhere they do their job is more likely to be paid and pay more later. (B) If they are outside of home, this makes getting a job harder and harder for them. (C) It will drive the family away in the short term.

If they work well they want to pursue their goal of earning a decent enough job (in the middle class or in the large middle of the road).

The best thing they can do is go work. They are better off at that for not pursuing an education.

We have not seen or been given to any of the jobs or the financial resources used for that.

I think Americans would be better off if we all work. Some people work more than others. The same thing applies to American children.

Wages cannot go up.

Do not pay your bills by doing it. Be honest.

If you didn’t work hard enough, you could at least quit the job. If you weren’t good enough, you would have been offered a better job.

If you did not do your job successfully, or you didn’t have enough time to plan, and you were rejected, you wouldn’t start working.

You would have to go home and be depressed because you had to stay home. If you never had time to sleep, you might feel like you were missing out.

What I’ve seen is that many American children learn about American work ethic not by doing well but by working hard all day and by working hard at night. They learn about American work ethic and learn about the importance of living in the working poor community. And the same goes for kids raised in the welfare state (i.e. not paying for their schoolwork – I don’t see how you could do that for all kids). Kids in the welfare state get “work for the people” and “pay for the money”. Children from the welfare state get “work for the poor”. They get “work for the middle class.” All of this is why I am pro-immigration.

It isn’t that I don’t believe such things or that they are bad for America or that you shouldn’t work hard to earn an education or some of how it works.
