It’s very disappointing to see how the United States of America has turned away from the christian principles this nation was founded on. One of the tenth commandments from the bible says: “Thou shall not kill.” What makes a human believe that his word is superior to God’s mandate? Life is a gift from God. I, among thousands of other people in the United States believe that the death penalty is completely wrong. One of the reasons the death penalty should not be allow is because it’s considered a first degree-murder but committed by the state. A second reason is there are possibilities of wrongful verdict. Finally, the trauma of such death penalty could cause to a family.
Life it’s given by God; therefore he’s the only one that has the right to take it away. But the court of the United States thinks otherwise with their death penalty. According to the state, taking the life of a human being for committing a crime is called “justice.” The death penalty is really considered by opponents as first-degree crime committed by our own authorities; the state. The death penalty it’s no different than the original crime committed by the individual and at times even worse. For example; sometimes the state would decide that the death penalty over a robbery crime is the necessary action to be taken, which is clearly not. How is money more valuable than a humans being life. Humans should not have the power or right to take the life of another human being, not even the state.
A huge disadvantage for death penalty sentencing is there are a lot of possibilities that an innocent person may wrongfully be put to definitive sleep. There are records where the state had sentenced death penalty over a prisoner and later on Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) testing proved that the
