Cortney PearsonMr. DemmingEnvironmental Science20th May 2017My Views of Green Power Green Power is a renewable energy and be regarded as those renewable energy resources and technologies that provide the greater environmental benefit. Green power is defined as electricity produced from solar, wind, geothermal, biogas, eligible biomass, and also low-impact small hydroelectric sources. Green Power is purchased by your energy company on your behalf. Companies generate electricity at a range of sites across Australia and supply the electricity to a central power grid. The 113 ICT companies examined an all in all consumed more than 59 million MWH (Megawatt Hours) of electricity in 2014, which represents 1.5% of the total U.S. electricity consumption. Of the 59 million MWH, 14% (8.3 million MWH) was sourced from voluntary renewable electricity. Renewable energy in the United States hold to be about 13.44 percent of the nationally produced electricity in 2015. I strongly believe in these more alternate, environmentally friendly energy sources. Companies are purchasing renewable energy through many different kinds of methods, including on-site generation, power purchase agreements, utility and competitive suppliers, and unbundled renewable energy certificates. Hydropower is one of the biggest sources of renewable energy used today in the United States of America. The most common places to use hydropower would be a power plant. They use a dam on a river to store water in a reservoir. Water released from the reservoir flows through a turbine, spinning it, which then activates a generator to produce electricity. California is a leading state and around 29 percent of Californias electricity comes from RPS eligible renewable sources, including hydropower. Wind, biomass, and geothermal carry the most promise. Variations of many markets are depending on resource, policy programs, and competing energy sources. By 2040, wind-powered generation is projected to account for about 7% of global power supply. Fossil energy sources, like oil, coal and natural gas, are non-renewable resources that form when plants and animals die and were gradually buried by layers of rock. Fossil fuels are not a source of energy I agree with even though they are the most used sources. They pollute and danger the earth. I really hope one day, the only source of energy used will be renewable energy sources all across the globe!
