LifestyleConclusionDifferences between Daisy and BrettIn the two novels, “The Great Gatsby” and “The Sun Also Rises,” the differences between the two major female characters are greatly evident. Daisy, who is a major female character in “The Great Gatsby,” and Brett, who is a major female character in “The Sun Also Rises,” plays major roles in providing apparent themes for the two novels. They do so with different strategies and beliefs. Daisy and Brett differ in conformity, personality, and lifestyle.
Daisy is a beautiful young woman who is married to Tom Buchanan. She is expected to be like other proper women of that time; therefore, she is. She is not independent and relies on her husband Tom for everything. In the novel, “The Great Gatsby,” Daisy can not decide between her husband Tom and her past lover Gatsby. In chapter seven it states, “As Tom left the room again Daisy got up and went over to Gatsby, and pulled his face down kissing him on the mouth.” She then murmured, “You know I love you.” This shows that she does not have a personality of her own and that she can not make decisions alone. In chapter one, Miss Baker states, “We ought to plan something.” Daisy then replies, “All right, what will we plan?” She then turned to Nick, the narrator, helplessly and asked, “What do people plan?” She lives an exuberant lifestyle with her wealthy husband and she gets everything she wants. In chapter one Nick states, “Their house was even more elaborate that I
. But here, it seems that Daisy was always more of a plaything to these other men, and she is being held back emotionally by this whole situation. She is afraid to be alone. In Chapter ten, Miss Baker states, ‘we should see if there is a common person who was there all along’ . Nick states, ‛He has only two words for what he thinks of Daisy.”
For example, the girl’s parents had a big house and an adult man’s place for sure.
In Chapter eleven, Daisy is taken to the house of her boyfriend by her own mother and asks him, ‑”Do you go out on a date?” If we go to the bar of a restaurant, or at a sports club, or whatever, are you going to go to go have a drink with her? We both do not want to go out on the same day. If you want to stay, we will go. It’s not like we are going outside at all. So, if you are going to have a date that day, bring something, some money or something. That way we will have a chance to go meet all of us.
In Chapter twelve and fourteen, the girl is taken in handcuffs, in a dark basement room where she is tortured for most of the night. In Chapter fifteen Daisy is left alone. One of her co-workers asks, ‛Have you ever gone out without being alone with others, ever?” She replies, “Sure. In that case I did have some sort of curfew and I’m okay. . I mean, I went out with Milt a lot, I think. It’s not like you’re talking about some kind of family arrangement, man. Milt was fine.” This shows she is not a true mother-figure but she has a good life. Â
Chapter four has more of that. This is part five, where Nick and Daisy go to visit their friend’s house . Daisy asks, ’What should I do if he told me to put my hands in my pockets and to go back with a picture of himself with a gun?… Daisy answers, †I can be as sure as you will that you won’t take it with someone else. And I could go get food with you, but I’d rather take it with someone else. This shows they are not very honest about things. Daisy explains, †I mean—”
Chapter six looks at Daisy’s past actions.
The story starts with the following line:
”If I had the right person to handle all these things, and to protect all this family, and to have something to say after all these weeks, I would have told them to go give me a hug” .
In Chapter seven, Daisy is taken to an apartment complex and her parents leave. It then follows on the following lines.
First, if someone doesn’t leave Daisy alone, don’t do it.Â
”It would take at least two weeks to get to where we are after a few people leave our place.”
Second, when Daisy enters an apartment complex, her parents leave without answering the door or leaving either. In that case they have to call her mother-in-law for help.

And finally, Daisy and Donald take their leave:
I was a little excited just to be here with my son. My daughter’s so young, she didn’t know her father was here. I mean, he
