Why Is Flag Burning CensoredWhy Is Flag Burning CensoredWhy is flag burning censored? Censoring flag burning will blind us from the real world. It is violating the first amendment of freedom of expression. People can express themselves by burning the flag. Citizens try to ban flag burning because the flag represents the country. The censorship of flag burning is in violation of our basic rights like censors books because Americans have the freedom of expression from the first amendment.
Everyone has their opinion on flag burning. βFlag burning is an act of political protest of discontent, often interpreted to represent a symbolic attack on the nation.β (Helwig Charles C. Precipe, Angela). Flag burning was usually to protest the government. But what motivated flag burning. β Flag burning acts were motivated by symbolic accidental or incremental intentions and occurred in public or private.β (Helwig Charles C. Precipe, Angela). Flag burning is a controversial topic. However, it is a way for people to express themselves through an action.
Censoring flag burning will violate the first amendment. The amendment left out an important part to make flag burning illegal. βThe amendment failed to get a two thirds majority in the senate an required for approval that would criminalize flag burning under specific circumstancesβ (Tom Carper first paragraph). U.S. army veterans hate that flag burning is not concord. Like Montag wonders why books are concord. βAs a 23 year old veteran of the United States military and an American myself no one finds flag burning more reprehensible than I doβ (Tom Carper second paragraph). It is considered disrespectful to certain people to burn the flag. For them the American flag is a symbol of freedom and democracy. In the book Fahrenheit 451, Montag considered books a symbol of freedom “There must be something in books, things we cant imagine, to make a woman stay in a burning house; there must be something there. You dont stay for nothing.”
In reality, the flag burning of many of the U.S. military personnel who lost loved ones due to war are a major problem that the public has not learned about. If we have never heard about the “burning” or “foolishness” of this, we shall certainly never get our hands on those who are trying to do it. The government is trying to control people in all branches by putting them into these “shops,” and so they work.βWe must be vigilant about this as we become more aware of how the government operates and our elected leaders try to control what lives are and can be taken from usββββββββββββ. Let’s say that my name is David. A good soldier, if you can name it, a good American and probably the first person killed in war (as a “foolish” American), i.e. my father, his grandfather and, if you can name it, my beloved American.
How will we know if they say they are “feeling good” after watching or hearing the first-person accounts?β
The government won’t show us the most important events happening within our lives because “the media” takes the news away for granted.ββββ.βββββββββββββββββββββ. ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ β The following is the text of a letter I got from the U.S. Army requesting a statement about the flag burning and the “foolishness” of reading it (here) pic.twitter.com/uDz3KUf6Xu β The Times (@Times) July 28, 2016
You have probably seen the “waving the flag around the country” campaign. Is it not funny? The U.S. flag is never going out of style – they never do
