Skitzophrenia and the Unconscious
Skitzophrenia, a mental illness of audio and visual hallucinations, is one of the major mental illnesses in the world today. It is difficult to diagnose with accuracy, the cause is unknown, the cure is apparently unavailable, the treatment is questionable and the prognosis is bleak. The main problem with curing skitzophrenia is that there is a misunderstanding about the cause of the problem on hand. As everything in life is connected to global politics, the whole world has to follow the great Americans who think that skitzophrenia is an organic disease; conveniently enough they are able to capitalize on the drug market, considering how the rest of the world are inferior and have to purchase these psychotropic drugs for their mentally ill. American neuroscience is based on a theory of neurons and transmitters. There is no solid proof that their theories are valid, however legislation has it that the mentally ill have to undergo treatment with trial drugs. Skitzophrenia is a psychological condition and can be cured through psychoanalysis. The mind consists of the conscious and the unconscious. Fears, sorrows, hate, love, wishes, emotions that we cannot bear to deal with in our lives get repressed into the unconscious. These issues along with memories of all our experiences in life are stored in the unconscious. The outlet for these issues is through the dream mechanism. If these dreams are ignored and the issues are not resolved, the unconscious comes through the skitzophrenic channel. As we are talking about the health of the mind and body, the spirit is not too far. God is within all, omnipotent, controlling our lives through the unconscious.
“We do not know whether there is a real disturbance of the organic processes in the brain in a case of neurosis”[1]. As psychiatrists of present day go on about their business of prescribing psychotropic drugs, they are missing the underlying cause of the problem they are trying to fix, hence wasting their time and government money. The highly paid doctors are misdiagnosing their patients and prescribing ineffective medication as a result of their dogmatic education. Most doctors around the world today are educated by the American superpower. Apparently they know it all; what they say goes. Medical boards accept the American way and the naïve medical studendts do not question their superiors, in fear of reprisal of their high salaries. Hence the cycle of ignorance continues.
“It cannot be doubted that the real causes of neurosis are psychological”[2]. Let us keep in mind that the whole of present day neuroscience is based on the neurotransmitter theory. A theory!! There is no solid proof, evidence of sighting these neurons or transmitters. However, skitzophrenia is apparently an organic disease, curable only by manipulating the neurotransmission. If Newtons Law of Universal Gravitation can be broken and Einsteins theory on the speed of light questioned, it is not impossible to throw out present day neuroscience. Skitzophrenia is a curable psychological condition.
Reffering to contemporary procedures, the effectiveness is pathetic to say the least. Patients have a maximum of five minutes a week of the doctors time. The patient is locked up in a maximum security prison for over a month speaking to the doctor for a total of less than half an hour. How many issues of the patient does the doctor solve. The nurses might write up their fancy reports for the doctor about the patients behaviour and activities, however, considering the minimal education that the nurses receive, they do not possess the skills required to fulfill the function of identifying the issues and reporting ways to help the patient resolve his issues. The issues go unaddressed and the patient is discharged into the community and promised a follow up where the patient manages to wrangle out another 5 minutes a week with a student doctor. The requirement of constant medication and constant needle probing it not very soothing for anybody, let alone someone suffering mental discomfort. Pharmaceuticals are not neccessary to cure skitzophrenia. Doctors need to spend several hours with patients to be able to identify the issues that need resolving.
The psychoanalysts have to probe the dreams of the patients. The issues that are brought up by the dreams have to be identified by the patient and each one addressed. The analyst needs the patient to be trained to be able.to identify the issues that the dream bring up or the dream would have to be recorded in order for the analyst to study the dream and identify the issues presented. Once the isues are raised, they have to be addressed. The patient might be feeling sorrow for instance. The death of a loved one is a common problem that people suffer from. Recurring dreams of the loved one might present itself if the greiving process was not completed and the sorrow emotion not addressed and repressed as a result. The doctor has to be able to provide mechanisms to eliminate their sorrow. As other issues such as hate, desire, frustrations, anger might be raised, the doctor has to be able to quickly provide the appropriate solutions. There will be no need for prescribing medication for a problem such as skitzophrenia. Skitzophrenia is a psychological condition and can be treated through psychoanalysis.
The mind is divided into two parts: the conscious and the unconscious. Unresolved issues of the conscious are repressed and stored in the unconscious. The unconscious is filled with repressed
