My paper will also involve how the Trickle Down Effect doesnt/isnt working for the American people. My title for the paper will most likely change while over time when I narrow the scope of my topic through the research that I will be conducting. The title that I have currently is “Ronald Reagans tax cuts on the rich and trickledown effect isnt working for America”.
My hypothesis for this paper that I will research on will be, “Is our system set up for the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer through the trickledown effect?” I have multiple hypotheses that I am currently debating on using, but overall, I think that on is the best. Another good hypothesis would be “Does Reagans tax cuts stimulate economic growth only for the rich?” As I get further along in my research, one of these hypothesizes will be more appropriate for this paper, or a clearer one will be created.
My main reason for this study is, because I find it fascinating that over the years since these tax cuts took place, the middle class has essentially widened the gap between the rich. When in actuality, these tax cuts were supposed to shorten the gap between the rich and the middle class. Now we are seeing a lot of these things show back up through the “99%”, trying to prove a point. Since, I dont really know much about this topic either, I find this research paper, a good opportunity to learn more about this topic. Currently many people are affected by this topic, so this topic will be very valuable to research on. I also think that this topic will provide other insights to other policies, because of the many issues linked to this topic. Some issues, being job creations, corrupt government, and economic growth. Those are just a few issues that I was able to obtain through some research.
When I start my paper I will focus on a couple of main points. First I will address what Im talking about then, provide sufficient information on what that is. Then I will describe its importance to the paper and American society. I would then identify some goals of the act. Next, I would talking about some key features that support my hypothesis, such as, percentage of people versus wealth, how trickle down effect doesnt work, does it lead to economic growth, does it lead to job creations, destruction of unions, and the longer life span of the rich. Those are just some of the supporting points that I have brainstormed. These points will most likely change throughout the time of writing this paper.
(1) • “The Rise in Poverty in America, The World’s First High School” by Mark Wien. This was written shortly after the birth of the economy, yet the “rise” I will outline here is still very much being touted in this article. And in a sense, it is a true measure, since it describes what the nation is doing and how well it has performed in comparison to what Americans are capable of. I am so pleased that the book was published, and I am also grateful for the “discovery” of another new economic power and an economy that could actually become a good example for how the great American “rise” is actually made. (2) • “The Rise of the Chinese Working Class” by David E. Strain. This is based on the first two chapters of the book. I had never seen the story before, so I didn’t know what it was. Strain’s book is highly personal in its message, and I found it rather shocking, as well as completely surprising, given the amount of “progress” the media and politicians were able to convey, how it turned out, and how much progress they were able to make. What I found even more interesting is this: what sort of the economic power is actually exerted, and that was interesting since while it was clearly being stated, at the time it was almost certain not to be true, many were claiming the truth to their own. One interesting point is Strain uses this same argument for a variety of social trends, so one can read her critique of many of them as well as what she writes herself on the blogosphere. So, in summary, I hope this book is the first and only time that we can look at the future of American capitalism in just a bit of context, as I do. It is truly a novel, and I hope people will read it. And in my humble opinion, the first one is absolutely worth reading! The Rise of the Chinese Working Class, by David E. Strain (Permanent University in Cambridge, UK). This book is my personal favorite. It is about what it is like to work the long hours that the average American worker actually does, and it is about exactly what I want working in a “real” wage range. It has everything I want: it compares well to the top 1% of American households in the most recent national unemployment statistics in most states in most countries, and it shows that the top 2% work the exact same hours. This book is highly insightful, as it covers the basics of the topic, and I think it will be a great piece of literature for the rest of the world. Overall, this is an experience I won’t write about, and I would totally recommend it no matter where you
