The company does allow to work from home, which is good if you have a busy schedule, but with it comes longer work schedules and no work life balance. Employee ratings from the company work and balance life schedules about 28% of the employees would recommend them to friends and family to work there. Employees at Express Scripts feel they are over worked as well as rushed on work as well. Employees and former employees have shown their experience with the company work life but the company is still profiting from there customers and clients. The issue at Express Scripts is when it comes to merit pay increases year its based on your performance. The company has key metrics that are sometimes hard to meet and when it comes to customer service skills they advise their employees to focus more on these key metrics since there raises depend on it or even their job. There customer service, in most cases lack of, is mainly focusing on numbers and dollar not what the customer needs and wants. Another feeling employees have at Express Scripts is the fear of losing their jobs due to lack of performance metrics and sites closing down.
Most companies have a strategy to achieve within their compensation programs. A strategy that is absence with Express Script in one area, which is recognizing and rewarding employees. This type of compensation is design to help motivate employees to perform at their best and in return a reward of compensation. The company advises they recognize employees for doing the right thing at the right time, but employees felt pressured from leaders and managers to have to reach key metrics as well as advising these metrics were more important to the company than the overall customer service experience as well as employee well-being. A company can be recognized as being good or bad depending on a few key categories like the customer service and products they have to offer. To meet these key categories is hard work and dedication not only would you have happy employees but as well as happy customers which in returns would reward the company in many ways. Based on experience employees who worked for a company that had a high good work-life balance would work harder that those who had to regularly had to rearrange things in their life to balance out work schedule. In today’s fast past work market no only do companies want you to be available all the time but the company’s customers are wanting that too.
