Caricature Story
Caricature StoryIt was a thursday evening and I was practicing in my clinic. There was scamper hurtle in my clinic. It was the utmost desire of every patient to consult me as early as possible. Then in all of an unforeseen, along with a few people; a young patient with open fractured tibia fibula came in extremity. They all were crying out loud and uproared clamour, “Doctor!? Please, somebody call him. Call the doctor!”. Patient was in terrible pain, drastically bleeding and yelling out of pain. The receptionist came forward to calm them down and said that there are lots of  appointments that are already underway; we have no arrangements in our clinic to handle such acute emergency. Accompanied people became heart-rending impassioned. They started screaming and orated the staff and doctor as “Inhumane, barbaric and brutal people who do not mind about the life of humans, woe on you”. Meanwhile, the patients blood soused in dressing. Such excruciating condition was ultimately observed  by me in my consultation room. I made a way to approach at the site, suddenly the environment became sympathetic for the injured person, everybody was ready to prioritize him and they allowed me to attend him first. I along with my staff took him to an accessible hospital where facilities were not adequate but it was equiped enough to start the treatment. We were planning to make further investigataion, measurements and X-Ray. All of a sudden, A man in 40s came in decent clothes, but with pale face and feeble body language. He was filled with anxiety, it was like he had no control on his nerves. He was inquiring impotently about the patient. He was the destitue of power father of that boy. After giving directives to the Health Provider Staff, I asked that man to follow me and I took him to the MS office of that hospital. He was so demented having substandard knowlegde about medical field, He asked a lot of questions about the procedure of nursing the cure. His body language was vague and ambigous and kind of irritating too, his impositions were that doctors are the cause of this incident. “If these doctors can not cure my son, then what good are they at? Such quacks” he said.  Well, this happens in such extremities.  Doing what we do best, we managed to get the patient according the base guide lines by applying external fixator. A careful resized daibretment covered by appropriate antibiotic medication. After writing the instructions on post operatrive file, I got back, resumed practice in my clinic and thanked all the underway patients for their patience and humanity for that boy. But when I was about to end my clinical activity of that day, that 40s “feeble man” showed up at my clinic and further asked irrrelevant questions about his son. Now I was annoyed and answered the queries in an indignation manner. The very next follow up day, I visited that boy. His condition was much more stable and improved. During my visit, his father again started to asked questions about the external fixator. He said that he has other doctor friends too, he will try to ask them about the treatment and discuss the matter with them. This provoked a kind off subordination in me. But I let it go and carried on with the treatrment. On Saturday,  the second post up day, we washed his wounds and changed the dressing in a septic position. Now the boy was very much comfortable. But the inquiry infested attitude of his father went on and on.
