Sophocles is a great Greek tragedian writer whom is responsible for a number of classic dramas in literature. Sophocles was sure to present themes in each of his plays that were applicable to life and could even cause an individual to question him or herself. For instance, in Sophocles The Women of Trachis, there was a theme regarding loyalty to family. In Electra, the effect of revenge was a strong theme. Most importantly, Sophacles wrote Oedipus the King with the theme of fate. In numerous ways, the prescribed fate of Oedipus could hav been distorted, yet the main caracters still meet their fate as a result of each of them trying to escape it.
