Never A Dull Moment
As I stand behind a dirty glass door that is smeared with who knows what by I know who, I can see him sitting on his little red plastic chair. My two year old looks so much like me and acts so much like me that he could be me and yet he is very much his own little person. Brody came into this world with such innocent facial features, like his big blue eyes and rose bud lips that even the coldest person would have to smile in his presence. My son is so intricately woven, a combination of my wife and I, and yet has his own free will to become whoever he wants to be. There are days when I dont understand what it is that he wants or needs from me, but I know the purpose for his action is to capture my attention.
I love to watch Brody from a distance, like right now, and just observe him when he doesnt realize Im doing it. He is in his own little world with an ice pop and making a huge mess as it melts all over his hands, face, and neck. His hands are extremely large for a two year old, as are his

feet which he constantly trips over. He reminds me of a new foal trying to figure out how to use his long legs just after birth.
Brody finished the ice pop and cast the wooden stick on the ground as if it belonged there . He grabs his classic metal Tonka truck and gets on his hands and knees in the grass and dirt to push it around the swing set area. He looks so content with his surroundings.
He has kept himself busy with the truck for a few minutes now and he is getting hot from the sun. His rosy cheeks are getting sweaty and he takes of his little flip flops from his chubby feet and leaves them in the green turtle sand box that is filled with purple sand, which he feels the need to constantly shovel out of the box daily. He finds a baseball hat that has been sitting on the slide for a week now and has been through two rainstorms. He puts it on sideways in a very proud manner and goes back to shoveling the purple sand.
Brodys dog has now joined in the fun and has found a pile of something gross to eat off the lawn. Brody looks like a little old man patting his long skinny legs to make noise to discourage the dog away from the pile. Brody begins chasing the dog and gets further and further away. All I can see now are Brodys hands flying in the air chasing the dog. I hear

him yelling something which sounds like ” Beeeeee, nooo, yucky!” They both slowly start to come back
