CD Review
The band is Yellowcard, the album is Ocean Avenue, and the verdict is one of the best CDs Ive ever heard. When I first heard that there was a punk band with a violin player in it, I thought this was going to be good, NOT! But, then I started hearing some of their songs on the radio and really liked them. Shortly after, I bought the CD and it was worth every penny. The CD starts off with one of their best songs, “Way Away.” Back in my hometown this song is really popular and is played on the radio almost every half an hour. The next couple of songs on the CD are just as good if not better than the first one. They include popular songs like “Ocean Avenue” and “Only One.” At about this point I started thinking if the first half of the CD was this amazing; the second half is going to be terrible. I was wrong, but how could a band make a whole CD and not have one bad song? I came to the conclusion that theyre just that good. Going through the last half of the CD I came across the song “Inside Out” which I could have sworn Ive heard somewhere before. I still dont know where, but it is by far the best song Ive ever heard. It relates to life in so many ways, its like hes gone through all the heartbreaks and bad relationships that I have. It feels like I have a connection with this song; actually, the whole band. Somehow they have a song for every occasion the moods in this CD are so diversified, and that just makes listening to them even better. I can listen to them when Im sad, happy, mad, or wanting to get pumped up for a party. The only thing weird about this CD is that all the songs are good.
