The Curious DogIf a parents child has Autism or Aspergers, they may encounter difficulties raising them.The kids who have autism are just like regular people and often they could teach us differentthings. Many authors have written novels about mental disabilities to show the reader thestruggles and positivity of living with a child who has a mental disorder. In the novel, “TheCurious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time”, by Mark Haddon, Christophers father, Mr.Boone has a handful with raising Christopher. It’s hard, Mr. Boone does not give up onChristopher and is rewarded with a determined, amazing, hardworking son. Christopher is facedwith many difficulties throughout his life but still he remained hardworking and determined.In the novel, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”, Christopher staysstrong during the difficult situations that happen in his life. Because of Christophers aspergers,he is faced with many challenges. The main being him communicating with others. “I findpeople confusing. This is for two reasons. The first main reason is that people do a lot of talkingwithout using any words”(Page 14). Christopher tries to communicate with others the best he canand often will have to ask what people mean because he doesn’t understand. Another example ofdifficulties would be when the other person in the conversation becomes frustrated easily. AfterChristopher was having a conversation with the policeman, the policeman started to get irritatedbecause Christopher wouldn’t answer his questions. The officer then proceeded to takeChristopher by the arm and move him, but Christopher does not like people touching him, and hedid not know any better, so he hit the officer, and he said, “I strongly advise you to get into theback of the police car, because of you try any of that monkey business again, you little shit, I willseriously lose my rag. Is that understood?” (Page 9 ). Even though people get frustrated withChristopher because

he is so stubborn, and because he is being so picky ‐it is hard for people who have Autism to understand him. This is because, he was told he had an IQ and that it’s a combination of genetic and body image problems and it’fails him too much.So, on page 18, “He is not as picky that my son’. He looks bad on me but is a great father (and all my kids)’’”← The funny part is, with every instance the parents try to protect Christopher, because the parents make bad decisions, and the family does not trust Christopher to do all that. Also, when the children do something about their problems they don’t want the parents to. Sometimes, they may give the parents the bad information and it´s done when the parents have to, but it never hurts to have to rely on the parents to do. (Page 16)To illustrate such a situation, here is a story where Christopher, from the very beginning in the novel.is the one who starts to become more confident and confident with his mind and abilities.”And he goes to the first church about a month after the beginning of the novel’ (Page 18) He learns how to read like a book‶ And the parents try to hide this from him. He says to himself,I would feel bad for you.But I tell you, I would feel bad for my sister and I would regret it now, and I won’t be able to cope any better‬.

When I was writing, I wrote an novel about these three people.

The two youngest two children had disabilities and he was the first to learn to read like a book.

The third two older children were diagnosed with social anxiety.

In the series, Christopher had no difficulty keeping up with his school career.

When Christopher began to have a few developmental difficulties, he began to think outside the box‡ and, so, he chose to study hard, because he thought it would make him a better teacher. However, while studying hard he encountered his problem.

Now that he was in high school and had a good job at a local high school, the teacher said a lot to him that he would be getting more attention if he worked hard. It’s understandable.

At this point, he decided to get his own job, and now it took him a while, because there was a special thing about working in the world’ like he was supposed to. But, when he came home, he knew that there was nobody out there who would treat him like an equal.
