Saifi is distribution system reliability metric that measure the average number of times power goes off to customers over the period of time, typically 12 months. For example, a Saifi of 2.1 means that on average, customers experienced about two sustained interruptions of power supply for the year. Saifi is similar to the system security metric of customer interruptions (CI).
If SAIFI 1: means that the customer experienced about 1 sustained interruptions of the power supply for the first six month of the year 2010.
SAIDI: System Average Interruption Duration Index.
= Total of Customer Minutes Lost/ Total number of served customer.
Saidi is a distribution system reliability metric that measure the average duration in minutes that customers are without power over a period of time typically 12 months. For example, a Saidi of 200 means customers, on average, were without power for three hours and 20 minutes for the year.
If SAIDI 2.3: means customers, on average were without power approximately 2 hours and 3 minutes for the first six months of the year 2010.
