There are many ways to plan a future, writing it down, making a chart, and sometimes filling out a questionnaire from your guidance counselor. Planning the future of the most powerful nation cannot be completed by filling out a questionnaire; however, men and women who crave power and its narcotic properties have already determined what path America should take into this new century. This group has labeled their endeavor, Project for the New American Century. This “Project” is referred to by the acronym PNAC. PNAC is a view of what these men and women want the next century to be, American. PNAC has released lengthy, detailed documents justifying their cause. The main purpose of PNAC is world domination by an Empirical America. Any plan of world domination would not be complete without a timeline. With a war in Iraq and a plan on paper, America is a point on a timeline designed by aspiring emperors to achieve an American dominated world. The members of PNAC have infiltrated the highest positions in the American government and have set their plans into motion. The world is slowly changing and becoming more within grasp of these mongers.
It would astonish some to find that there is a plan amongst the chaotic, partisan government to achieve world domination. The Project for the New American Century is such a plan. The “Project” covers all angles of transforming America into the next empire and consequently, a world dominating force. The document entitled, “Rebuilding Americas Defenses: Strategies, Forces and Resources for a New Century” gives an in depth explanation and plan of what PNAC thinks is the best for America and the world. A Scottish newspaper, The Sunday Herald, summed up the major points of this report into the following statements:
The U.S. must take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein is in power: “While the unresolved conflict in Iraq provides justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein
The U.S. must “discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role”
Permanent U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, whether or not Saddam Hussein is in power
Increasing military pressure on China: “it is time to increase the presence of American forces in southeast Asia” which will lead to “American and allied power providing the spur to the process of democratization in China”
“the creation of US Space Forces, to dominate space, and the total control of cyberspace to prevent enemies using the internet against the US”
The report contains ambivalent language toward bioterrorism and genetic warfare: “New methods of attack — electronic, non-lethal, biological — will be more widely available combat likely will take place in new dimensions, in space, cyberspace, and perhaps the world of microbes advanced forms of biological warfare that can target specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool”
Development of “world-wide command-and-control system” to contain dangerous regimes of North Korea, Libya, Syria and Iran
The author, Neil Mackay, continued on and even received a response from a British citizen referring to the report as “a blueprint for world domination” and “These are the thought processes of fantasist Americans who want to control the world” (Mackay). The PNAC report is shocking; however, its purpose is not to shock but rather explain what the American Right-wing Politicians are planning and carrying out while in Washington D.C.
The founding fathers of this Project have their roots deep in American government. The list of original signers for PNACs statement of principles consists of approximately twenty-five people. A few notable members of PNAC include, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Steve Forbes, and Donald Rumsfeld. In a game of chess the difference between victory and defeat is correct positioning and planning. These men have the correct positioning and PNAC gives them their plan. Jeb Bush is the current Governor of Florida, the location of the memorable presidential ballot re-count which, under much controversy, lead to the republican victory allowing his brother, George W. Bush, to become the current President. The current Vice-President, Dick Cheney, also a six-term congressmen, and is the ex president of the oil-services giant Halliburton Company when PNAC was founded. Cheney also resides on PNACs founding fathers board. P.J. ORourke is quoted, “Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.” The billionaire Steve Forbes is also one of the original founders of the Project. Steve Forbes is the owner of the popular magazine, Forbes, as well as its publishing company, Forbes Inc. Forbes also ran for president in the 1996 and 2000 campaigns (Wikipedia). The other notable name on the list of original signers is Donald Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld recently resigned from his post as Secretary of Defense. He was a board member of a predominant pharmaceutical company, and a chairman of the US Ballistic Missile Threat Commission. Rumsfield has served under presidents Nixon, Ford and George W. Bush (dkospedia). These are four examples of how the founders of PNAC are embedded in the American Government. Their roots spread deep throughout the American government; the members of PNAC do not find it hard to express its ideals to affect policy.
The current situation of America and its government can be compared to the list of aspirations the founders of PNAC wish to come about. “The U.S. must take military control of the Gulf region whether or not Saddam Hussein is in power” (Mackay). Saddam Hussein is no longer the dictator of Iraq. The Middle East region has roughly twenty five bases (Spolar), not including the amount of battleships, aircraft carriers, submarines, and other navel warships that could arrive in the Gulf region within a day. There are also long range bombers based throughout the world that are within hours of the Middle East, proving that American forces are “in control” of the Gulf region. “The U.S. must discourage advanced industrial nations from challenging our leadership or even aspiring to a larger regional or global role” (Mackay). The last nation to attack America was Japan at Pearl Harbor. The September 11 attacks from the Taliban leader Osama Bin Laden were attacks against America, however; the attack was against innocent civilians
