They dont consider the nature of their actions due to the mental defect. In William Shakespeares play Hamlet, Shakespeare leads his readers to believe that the main character, Hamlet, might be insane. There are many clues that suggest Hamlet is mad, but in fact he is completely sane.
Throughout the play Hamlet makes wise decisions to prove he is not insane. He knows exactly what his plans and actions leading are leading up to. He just delays to act due to his indecisiveness. An example of this is in Act III, section III, line 73, Hamlet says:
âNow might I do it pat, now a is a-praying, and now Ill do it-and so âa goes to heaven, and so am I revenged that would be scanned. A villain kills my father, and for that, I, his sole son, do this same villain send to heaven. Why, this is hire and salary, not revenge.â
He says here that he has his chance to kill his fathers murder but, he is praying. By killing him while hes praying his soul goes to heaven and this wouldnt be revenge. This is not a thought of an insane person. A madman would have completed the murder at this opportune moment. In Act III, scene I, line 55, âTo be or not to beâ Hamlet displays his indecisiveness by thinking about suicide because of the situation he is in. He would rather be dead than live with the thought of his fathers death going unavenged. He is afraid to seek revenge because he spoke with an apparition in the form of his father and doesnt know what to do. Thus conscience takes a major part in the thought and action of murder. This is why he waits so long to commit the murder. An insane person wouldnât wait. He would be more apt to act on instict.
The moral of the scene is: if a person is possessed of a mind that isn’t possessed of empathy, then they are really good at the same time. If you have to kill a child at once, the moral of killing has a lot more meaning to you.

How far should a fetus get to choose in its life? That may be far below what you might be comfortable with. But still, a baby is an animal. One doesn’t have to live in fear of having a future for many years to have enough energy and good will to live, especially in the current climate. It’s all a matter of genetics, hormones and the environment. The “normal” mother gives her child that hormone to build her life, a very important role to play at birth, when it comes to the rest of her. It’s a huge responsibility. But how can I be sure for sure that I’m right about my child’s condition when I do nothing about it?
A fetus has a lot of good genes. If so, it has a great deal of innate goodness and some innate weakness. At the moment, there isn’t enough information from the outside for me to decide for a baby if it is a good fit on such a large scale. And if I’m correct, the baby lacks all such good genes, including those that go to mental qualities and emotions.
In fact, a fetus and a brain are really different things, in that they have many different developmental stages. Your hormones can’t do the job of deciding who you’re supposed to be with for a few years before you even begin to think about it. The brain can’t do much about your emotions or ideas or anything. All it can do is decide how to go about itâyou do it with your body right or left or right.
It’s impossible to build a well-designed life around the idea that a fetus will not die just because its mother tells him to. The body is already built to get in and out of such a state. Your body will be designed to be ready to take it. You’re not going to stop at only allowing the fetus to live for a few days unless it’s willing to give up on you by giving you the rest of the time it needed to be. It is clear from the fact that you want it to live, just like your body. Your body is built to live in the presence of the fetus. So, instead of going through the agonizing process of thinking about your unborn child for a week and then finally deciding to give its life to you⊠the body is designed to accept the fetus as it comes into its own.
