The four functions of management are: Planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Planning is the function where you primarily set out the goals that are to be achieved and plan out your decisions in advance on how you will accomplish these goals. It takes careful decision making in order for one to be successful in the business world. Some of the activities of planning include: evaluating which resources are needed and are in the best interest for the company and or organization and implementing business strategies. Organizing is part of assembling and coordinating of information gathering, human, physical, financial and many other resources that are needed. In this category some activities include creating comfortable and manageable conditions in an environment where people are willing to work together in achieving the highest level of success, also specifying responsibilities in a certain job or position, allocating resources, and attracting people. In order to run a successful organization it is important to have an organizational environment that is flexible and easy for one to adapt to. They must be aware of other competitors and also be sensitive to customer’s needs as they do play a huge role in a successful organization. Leading is basically when you encourage people to perform at the highest level. Someone who demonstrates the ability communicate effectively to their employees, whether it is individually or in groups and one that will motivate others.
