“I want to say very explicitly because the organizers of Lima and the organisers of a large number of events don’t really understand the value of public participation in their event. They’ve given it to them because they just wanted it to be a good, meaningful event, that’s for sure. You’ve seen in their past that you don’t actually make that statement at this sort of size, they didn’t consider it as a public event. As soon as a big event takes off, it becomes a huge public event. This is only the beginning.
Lima has no ‘official’ policy by any means other than those listed on our website where individuals can participate.
Lima is the only event which allows members to work on larger design works, including new-wave and design work, or work on one-off works or pieces. When there’s not an official policy stating that an individual will have to work on anything other than the mainnet, and when there are no such policies, members must work on everything from new works, new and finished pieces and work on pieces that are already in production. If members of the panel are concerned that someone will be hurt or harmed by work that they don’t intend to work on and have to work against the original designs, or if someone’s work is affected by something that hasn’t been publicly acknowledged and that was not made public, please bring the matter to us.
Lima provides the opportunity for those involved to share work on this event with their friends, family and community groups.
This is also to ensure that members can choose to work on things other than the mainnet.
