The Greatness of AmericaTyler BrownEng 203    Being born and raised in America, you dont think about the casualties, famine, and war going on in other countries. We as a country have come a long way. If you look at our history, there have been many terrible incidents. Even though they were indeed horrendous, we kept moving forward. We learned from our mistakes and we are still learning. In my eyes, that is what makes America what it is today. There was a time where peoples right were limited. Now our rights have become more defined where everybody has a chance to make it. There is still work to be done but there is no failure without success. As many people say, Rome was absolutely not built in a single dayt.     We have developed a marvelous democracy. Our ancestors didnt like being under a monarchy, so they fought for freedom. We as American citizens have the power to manage our government. We have a voice and can use it to rise up against things we think are wrong without severe punishment. We elect who we want to lead our country. They make promises and do speeches to persuade the public. Its just a crazy thought to me that Americans get to shape their own future. The leader cant even become too powerful because he would get evicted. I believe thats a great way to keep dictatorship away. In America, every vote counts. Thats why its so  important to get registered.   Believe it or not, America has the finest military in the world. I thank God for the soldiers that risk their life every day and for all their hard work. There has never been war on American soil besides the Civil War. We may have had a few terrorist incidents, but we seem to always get justice. We have one of the biggest militaries in the world which is a good thing. No one is forced to join because it is strictly optional. The soldiers receive great benefits and respected with high honor by all Americans.
