American Civil Rights Era
Have white people who’s casual bigotry of African Americans during the American Civil Rights Era ever reflected on their misconceptions and stereotypes. I have notice that life for African Americans was very rough during the American Civil Rights Era, because white people don’t notice what they say might hurt African Americans feelings.
The assassination of Martin Luther King makes me feel like white people don’t care about the African American people. I have learned that many African American had a lot of restrictions, such as, jobs, schools, housings, bank loans, and etc. This impacts my life because it makes me aware of what is happening in America. My personal opinion of the situation is that it makes people aware of the ratio inequality in America. The outcome of Martin Luther King’s assassination resistance to the civil rights and made people aware of what is happening.
John F. Kennedy’s Civil Rights Act made discrimination became illegal in jobs, schools, housings, bank loans, and etc. This made me feel like African American had more opportunities to do more things, but still struggle in many things. such as, moving into a white neighborhood, going to a white school, etc. I learned that African American still get bullied even with the Civil Rights Act. They get bullied at home in a white neighborhood or at a white school. My personal opinion of the situation with the Civil Rights act is that African Americans still had to struggle from doing many things. The outcome was that African Americans had more opportunities to do more things.
Rosa Parks fought against the law by choosing where she wanted to sit in a bus and got arrested for not moving to the back of the bus. This makes me feel like she did the right thing to fight for her freedom. I have learned that she is a very brave women, who is willing to go to jail
