It all started in 1754 when there was a struggle for land ownership in the newly founded Americas between the French and the British. The feud was so great it lead into the French and Indian War. This nine year struddle finally came to a close in 1763. The war had altered every aspect of life in the American colonies and the European countries who ruled them. The French and Indian War greatly altered all areas of political, economic, and ideological relations between Britain and its American colonies such as making it a more strict and more organized government, the great debt that Britain was put into, and the ideas of what actions to take next.

Out of all of the aspects that were altered between Britain and the American colonies during the French and Indian War the political relations were affected the most. Before the war occurred

Britain did not have a direct connection in governing its American colonies. Britain viewed the colonies individually but they all were under the authority of the king and Parliament. Britain imposed rules and duties onto the colonies, yet they did not enforce them strictly. One example of this would be the Molasses Act of 1733. This act imposed a tax on all molasses imported from the French West Indian Islands. The British Customs Service who ran this act did not enforce it correctly. At the time of this act Britain wasnt affected by the taxes not being paid because of a boom of wealth and trade. However after the war Britain made a decision to become less tolerate to the bribery and uneffictiveness of the Act. This decision showed how Britain wanted to have more control over its American colonies. Another action that took place to control the colonies was appointing colonial assembelies to oversee each colony. This action took place due to several feuds that occurred

between Britain and the American colonies. The new assembelies enforced the laws made by the king and Parliament as well as passed new rules and regulations that served to only their colony to make it a better place. Many political actions between Britain and the American colonies took place after the war. These actions definitely

altered the relations between Britain and its American colonies but it was altered for the better.
