The Happiness Foundation identifies the quality of society, the individuals position in society, psychological strength as well as sheer good or bad luck among the main determinants of happiness . The foundation uses as its basic material the World Database of Happiness, a project conducted by Ruut Veenhoven from Erasmus University Rotterdam and which comprises data on over 90 nations collected as early as 1946. Based on that, the Happiness Foundation is ranking Denmark, Malta and Switzerland as the happiest nations in the world and Zimbabwe as the saddest one. Another ranking of countries by happiness, based on an analysis of the results from over 100 studies which uses data published by UNESCO, the CIA, the New Economics Foundation, the WHO.
As for the impossible ones, we are inspecting the frequencies tables, particularly the minimum and maximum values, to see if there is any value which does not pertain to the range of possible answers. We find no such case.
