Definition of Indeterminate Sentencing
Indeterminate sentencing is the sentences that have a minimum and maximum time to serve.
One alternative to Indeterminate sentencing is parole, Which is the conditional release of inmates by a parole board prior to the expiration of their sentence another would be the justice model, which is the model of sentencing that would use flat, determinate sentences, eliminate parole boards, and make all treatment voluntary.

Some advantages to moving away from this type of sentencing.. I guess I dont understand that question fully.. the advantages of sing it is shorter sentences which would in turn save the state money in the long run in terms of taking care of them and the disadvantages of using these is for the parole board.. well there is only a few select people the decide whether the inmate has rehabilitated while in prison and can handle life outside and sometimes their judgments are not always on point as for the justice model not everyone needs a flat sentence, sometimes they just need the shock of being incarcerated to help rehabilitate them.

I would be for everything that can help rehabilitate inmates not everyone can fit into any sentence and sometimes need something new or different to help rehabilitate them!
