Essay About Tyler Joseph And Front Man Of The Band

Vessel by Twenty one Pilots Essay Preview: Vessel by Twenty one Pilots Report this essay Vessel by Twenty One PilotsReview by Amanda LindhardHave you ever found yourself in a tangle of sounds and colors? Found yourself just closing your eyes, letting everything else out, just to listen? If you’ve heard Twenty One Pilot’s album “Vessel” from 2012 you definitely have. The American, electronic duo: Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, finally brings something original to the mainstream music industry. Tyler Joseph, the front man of the band, brings keys to the table, where he also provides with rapping and singing in a way so brilliantly original, that you could almost allow yourself to call him an indie version of Eminem. Listen to his rap in the opening song of the album “Ode to Sleep” and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. Josh Dun contributes with backbeats, perfectly complementing the original twist of the songs. What makes this band and this album so special, is their mix of musical genres and poetic lyrics. The band combines electronica with pop, indie, hip-hop and more. The bands potential and ambition on this album, shows that they’re not just going stop when they’ve taken over the hit-lists, they are going to change the mainstream music industry. It’s a musical revolution! As mentioned the album opens with the song “Ode to Sleep”. The song gives the listener an effective kick of what Twenty One Pilots music’s really about and what they’re made of. Even though this may not be the best song on the album, it is without a doubt a great introduction for what’s to come. Even though there is a slightly awkward flow in Joseph’s rap, this will all be made up for later in songs like “Migraine”, “Car Radio” and the lead single “Holding On To You” where he uses lines like “When we gonna stop with it, lyrics that mean nothing, we were gifted with thought, is it time to move our feet to an introspective beat” it is also clear in this lead single, that Vessel is a revolution against the modern day popular music industry, and it’s catchy at the same time!
