So many revolutionary philosophical and religious ideas emerged during the same time period because civilizations were beginning to advance. Many areas of the world began to change and acquire new knowledge and materials. With those materials and knowledge came thoughts such as, “who is our creator(s)”, “who controls the lives of the people”. To find an answer to those questions religious ideas and revolutionary philosophy began to take over.
In Asia religions such as Confucianism, Daoism, and Legalism emerged. Confucianism is a religion developed in China and was adopted in 2nd century B.C.E during the Han dynasty. Confucianism has three central ideas: the rectification of names, relationship between human heartedness and righteousness, and knowing fate. Confucianism has helped develop and influence social thought in East Asia; it is an influential social philosophy. Daoism along with Confucianism and Buddhism became one of the three greatest religions of China. Daoism started as a combination of psychology and philosophy but progressed into a religious faith in 440 B.C.E. when it was implemented as a state religion. Daoism and Confucianism had similar concepts but at the same time were radically different. The third revolutionary religion of the time period was Legalism. The legalist philosophy exaggerated the significance of law with very strict rules. Legalists believed in emphasizing the use of punishment, “punishing to stop more punishing”. Regardless of its strict laws at the time it did help China unify its self better. Even though all three of these religions have common ideas within them; all have their own special individual characteristics.
In India two major religions began to surface, Hinduism and Buddhism. Hinduism is based on the concept that objects in this world reincarnate themselves in many different forms depending on their life. The belief that souls move up and down an infinite hierarchy depending on their behavior in a pervious life. Another major religion in India is Buddhism. Buddhists believe that there is a need for suffering in order to reach Nirvana within the eightfold path. Buddhist philosophy is encompassed around obtaining Nirvana their whole life.
In the Middle East polytheistic and monotheistic views were circulating. In Greek polytheism is what all people believed in. The
