Theater Appreciation
A performance is made up of many different parts, just as the one I attended this weekend. The performance I attended was the Mona Shores Pops Concert. It was a very interesting one at that. The theme was elemental and the way it was presented was very moving. The way the actors moved across the stage was flawless and very energetic. But at the same time it captured the audiences attention in a very effective way. I never once fell asleep as I normally would at concerts. The non stop presentation that was performed involved the audience in a way that they could relate to the presenters on stage that even an elementary student might not ask a whole lot of questions. Not only were the students spectacular but so was their surroundings. The props used where brightly painted and very catching to the naked eye. They kept the audience from noticing the people coughing and sniffling from colds for which they did not take anything before the show began. The lighting went right along with the props. During every part of the concert, the lights were set just right to set the mood. Never once did the lights interfere with your view of the performers. The students did so well that all of the audience loved the concert as I did. Seeing the audience clap and smile reminded me of my high school years and brought back good memories. With there being so much action and movement during the show, many mistakes became hidden. Only a few times did you catch a glimpse of a person who accidentally forgot something. The overall show had a very interesting theme and when it was all over, I just couldnt help but stand up and clap for the students that I did not even know.
