The rooster crows and creates a scene with his display yet the quite hen is the one who creates the egg. The hen allows more chickens to be created and for a farmer to make money off of her eggs. The hens role can be seen as the more important of the two. This quote can also be related to the human sexes. The author of the quote probably sees the female sex as more important than the male.
