Critical Thinking – Wambari (1992)According to Wambari (1992) “one of the greatest philosophers ever lived; it is quite clear that human being is made up of two things namely; mind and body”. Interestingly, the French went ahead to give different contrasting qualities of the substances constituting what we call a human being. The mind was one of his disciplines of interest where he gave it a definition as a thinking substance while on the other hand; he called the body a physical matter. The body is responsible for moving from one place from one another under influence of external forces or objects, occupies space and can be divided into several parts. In contrast, the mind is bestowed with the responsibility of reasoning. It through this mind that one can develop the quality of autonomous thinking we all require especially in our daily lives on earth; specifically Kenya.
Autonomous thinking is a trait whereby a human person is able to have an independent mind of judgment, able to think for oneself without an influence from external forces. An autonomous person is able to have a self-governed decision-making whose point of argument originates from his/her internal conscience. The opposite of this is heteronymous; where one is an able to make personal judgment and ones thinking is not independent hence swayed around or controlled by external forces Miggy (2001). It is due to the benefits and urgency of autonomous thinking that we ought to be such thinkers in Kenya today. Reasons range from political, social and economic decisions we usually encounter and make in our daily lives.
Political arena takes a central reason why we ought to be autonomous thinkers. To begin with is the latest concluded august Referendum poll. Kenyans were put into anarchy by their politicians who took different positions regarding the two sides of polling. As human beings, some Kenyans were tempted into listening to their politicians point of views, an example of external force to human mind. As autonomous thinkers, Kenyans were expected to make their own internal judgments on the Constitution. Such a poll and other subsequent especially the bye-elections taking place in some parts of the country are some of the reasons why we ought to be autonomous thinkers. Above all is the forthcoming 2012 general elections when every Kenyan should express ones democracy through autonomous thinking.
The Future
Of course you will never know the future, or if you are part of the majority, but you will undoubtedly know that there are many aspects to Kenya of a larger than life and socio-economic challenge. In most democratic countries in the world that is. One of the most important factors that the Kenyan people face are the conditions of government. There are many factors that can negatively affect our socio-political structure, to say the least.
As we have already seen, the challenge facing the NRC now that the democratic system has been adopted is more serious than ever. The need for governance as a political method, as one of the main means of making a informed decision is present in a large amount of the African political community. It is very clear that political parties are not the answer to the global problems. It is even more clear that the lack of leadership and political organization by the NRC will not stop the emergence of new political parties, and in fact is only part of the root cause of the current decline. The current NRC does not seem to have any good intentions towards a positive change that would allow for change and independence in the long run.
The problem is that a lot of the problems facing young and middle-aged Kenzi, the people at risk all together, are directly related to the situation in the national government and the democratic process. What is happening in Kenya, as they themselves are all facing today, is quite unique as they have different experiences, struggles, and ideologies, not just in their political ideologies. When it comes to political leadership and democracy and governance the NRC looks for candidates, in particular those that understand our needs, not just for the present but for the future.
There are already two parties in Kenya, one of which is the NRC. Its name is the NRC Bank but in fact a small private company from Kenya. They are the people’s monetary bank run with all the support of the government. The other party, called the NRC Bank, will have a role to play in governance but that is their job as the party has no control over the decision making process, only the actual process. And what the NRC Bank does, is to make the decisions regarding the country’s finances, the people’s political affairs of this country and others. It is not merely for their own financial security, but for real economic and social development. That will change as it happens with the NRC Bank in the form of its operations but in all honesty it is also not the biggest lender of wealth in Kenya. Therefore the NRC Bank is the most important bank in the country and the central bank to this country, as it handles all financial and financial security to make the financial crisis-reversal possible.
But before making a decision on what to do in the economic future, let us understand the question at hand, before you start to consider it any further. Is our country or what we call it, an integrated and sustainable society? If not, one cannot begin to make informed decisions. We need as a community to try and find the best solutions to our issues by creating open political, social, academic and other mechanisms. With
As stated by Autonomous thinking enables us to stop our trends of live, think again and take new steps or improve the current Watson (2001). In Kenya today we encounter the challenge of unemployment. This is attributed to the poor governance and other global challenges. The situation is worsened by fallacies that are in public domain discouraging scholars and entrepreneurs regarding absence of employment. Being such a thinker, Kenyans can doubt such annotations sit back, think for themselves as to why they live with such capabilities. By so doing, personal
