Excalibur
Myth is a way of looking at different perspectives culturally, and their differences. A myth is an expected story; it gives people that sense of being, and also gives us a sense of satisfaction. Myth is music, dance, visual art, music drama, cinema and literature. Myth is also a transition from youth to adulthood. Myth is justifying what a real hero is, and can be good and evil. It is that dramatic scenario. Myth gives cultural history, a way of explaining a phenomenon. Myth is love, power, magic, and a way for characters to find themselves as special people that possess greatness.
In the beginning of Excalibur, there is a battle of dramatic scenery with Uther and Merlin. During the battle, they come across the sword Excalibur. When the Lady of the Lake arises to give Uther Excalibur, he becomes King instantly, and the battle comes to an end; the legend has happened.
They are invited to LaDukes castle for dinner. LaDuke decides for entertainment that he would have his wife dance. During the dance, Uther falls madly in love with La Dukes wife. He wants her for himself, and another battle begins. Uther “must have her,” and thats when the love, lust and betrayal come into the play. He asks Merlin for a favor. The knights, along with King Arthur, form the round table. The betrayal and lust begins when Arthurs best trusted knight Lancelot falls in love with Guinevere, and their love becomes mutual.
The magic really happens when Morgana uses everything she has learned about magic and spells from the great teacher Merlin. She then uses what she has learned from Merlin against him to seek revenge against her brother and the whole world because of what had happened to her family a long time ago. Morgana tricks Arthur into sleeping with her by using her magic so she could bear his son, in hopes that she would regain her revenge though their son, Mordred, and when Mordred becomes old enough, he would take over King Arthurs throne.
The Power of Words: in the end of the story, when Arthur finally awakes from his sadness, he is ready to battle his
