The problem with bad lyrical content is that it perpetuates the worst violent acts of both black and white America by breaking itself from its musical roots and presenting America in a negative way. Fowl music is impure at its core because the more musicians thrive in the multinational market, which has left so much of their audience behind, the richer they get and are farther removed from the regular man. The violent situations that are associated with fowl music are not new; there is nothing new about young black men feeling and arguably being, in large part disenfranchised from the mainstream society of either culture, black or white. The music before these times was meant to carry people through bad times. Today music seems to be meant to carry people deeper and deeper into hopelessness and despair.

“(Yea) Weed n servetill i die(ok) (New playaz Circle) As a matter of fact its gon kill me, BITCH! (Cuz U Aint) (Tell em shawty) So Get High(Tell em Weezy).Or Get Low.” “If I dont do nuthin Imma ball, Im countin all day like the clock on the wall; So, goin get cha money lil Duffle Bag Boy, so, goin get cha money lil Duffle Bag Boy!”

The Intro to rapper Lil Wayne’s song “Duffle Bag Boy” introduces the songs value and supportive of drug dealing and drug using. A Duffle bag boy, according to Urban Dictionary.com is A street hustler that sells large amounts of illegal products through the use of a duffle bag. Duffle bags are more commonly used to sell drugs and or weapons; the bag is usually dropped off or exchanged for other drugs, weapons or cash. In the lyrics Wayne is telling the dealers to go ahead a make that money, thus supporting drug dealing. This song ranked number 15 on The Billboard Hot 100 charts for a number of weeks. With that high of a ranking, this song is being heard by the masses and many are affected by it. The song being played on television and on local radio stations impressionable minds are to believe that drug dealing is ok and that there are others who will support their decision to do such things.

Rap Music isn’t the only genre with this problem it cross all gaps from explicit forms on rock, to overly sexual new school R&B. This excerpt from the Song “ Crush, Kill Destroy” by Gwar incites tremendous violence; “I crush you as I would a fly
