Citizens’ Union – New York City, NY, USA
The NYC Citizens Business Council (BCC) is an unincorporated organization under the State of New York Act (NYC) 2000, adopted on 2 September 2001 that created the National City Council by empowering public and private organizations to lobby for a State Council. The Council’s primary function is to inform and improve New Yorkers regarding their economic needs.
The BCC also advocates for a free market approach with a comprehensive analysis of national and international economic conditions and environmental and policy debates and can influence a Federal, State and Local decision-making process. The BCC represents the working class and the rich and represents the future of working people and the interests of large and small businesses.
BCC members are members of the New Progressive Party (NYP). A national, cross-party grassroots movement, the NDP is the largest political and public-sector organization in New York City, representing the voters of the city who elected, through the process of electing, every elected New York state representative since 1978.
The NDP includes the United Progressive Party (UPP), the Reform Party of the Progressive Party/Democracy Canada (RPC), People’s Action Party (PAPPER), Labor Party (LPC), the Progressive Party of Ontario (PPO), the Democratic Party of Canada (DP) and the NDP.
As a progressive and anti-corporate organization, the NDP includes a wide repertoire of advocacy, including: membership and political action, organizing political action committees, and a special staff to be appointed to work outside the formal election process.
The NDP has been instrumental in promoting progressive solutions to the New York City economic crisis, including progressive solutions to the financial crisis, public policy initiatives, and environmental policies. A number of its members have worked in opposition to high unemployment and low wages in the areas of education, housing and urban development, in the promotion of social policies and services, environmental issues, youth and social and environmental issues, affordable housing and jobs, education and training for children, youth of color and those seeking entry into labor markets on precarious work or in other difficult situations.
Banc’s Business Board, a non-profit organization, serves as a clearinghouse for people-activists, including the BCC and others, with support from its leaders, business consultants, law firms and political groups.
The board’s president and current president are Andrew Macarthur, a native American of New Jersey. In 2009, Macarthur founded Banc for Entrepreneurs, an anti-corporate lobbying and political organization. Macarthur was an advisor to Governor Cuomo’s 2010 campaign for state Treasurer. In 2012, after his election as the Democratic Commissioner to the California Banking Supervision Commission (CSBCC), Macarthur joined to head the state’s most active grassroots political group, the BC Citizens Alliance. During that same six-month period, we held numerous public meetings and led our campaign for re-election to state Senate and Legislature and other offices at the state and federal level in 2014 and 2015; as an officeholder for Governor Cuomo’s unsuccessful gubernatorial bid; and, as an independent of the political group.

Our mission is to bring people together to make informed decisions and to educate our country’s leaders, entrepreneurs and consumers about the importance of local community economic development or local economic management. Our purpose is to ensure good governance, transparency and fair business practices in a community where it is more difficult than ever to regulate or punish businesses and people who violate our rights. I’m a former chief economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. As with many political issues at the Federal Reserve, my work focuses on the importance of local economic and local governance. As a professor at Georgetown University and a senior fellow at the Community Policy Institute, I’m an advocate for the interests of taxpayers and investors by advocating for local development of local economic and economic policy goals. This is another project that deserves our utmost attention. In the last few years, our government has invested in the development and development of public and private partnerships to bring jobs and opportunities to our local communities since the inception of the Federal Jobs Act in 1992.* Our goal is to build new economic and economic sectors. With each new investment, we can strengthen those sectors while strengthening our community ties and helping local families find more affordable, competitive jobs. As the state of California continues to develop, our leaders in both parties will continue to strive for a better, cleaner, more productive state for our workers. Your contributions have made the difference!

When the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) first issued this advisory as a result of Hurricane Sandy, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank financial reform legislation in June 2012. The American Community Reinvestment Act and the financial crisis have created an unprecedented void in the United States government that is making it harder for entrepreneurs and small businesses to compete and make positive investments without risking losses on public service. We must restore the balance of power between local governments and business. We must ensure that our communities continue to serve the public. We require that the US government provide the means to do this, which is why this advisory is especially important.
The Board of Directors of Banc for Entrepreneurs, as well as the C.A.B. are dedicated to improving our local jobs market and our economy. Our Board has served at least one local town after another, working with local groups to develop local business solutions and create partnerships with community leaders to help improve local economies.
I founded the Banc for Entrepreneurs campaign in January 2012 to push for better access to local transportation and businesses. For many years, this campaign has been one of my top priorities. Over the last six years, my campaign has earned over $2 million in public funds. The campaign seeks to raise enough money so that Banc for Entrepreneurs will continue to invest in local and community economic development while making local communities more resilient and independent. That includes ensuring that the government supports local communities, businesses and entrepreneurs through an investment in private and public partnerships.

banc began its political activities in 2012 after a brief stint on Massachusetts Public Television Board (MBPB) for the program “American Spectator” in which it conducted its first “progressive” election-style poll, showing the race for the Democratic nomination. The BMBP held similar public polls at other media outlets. This polling was done without using state political officials. Since then, banc has been the primary polling partner in a number of statewide legislative races, including in several rural, urban, and suburban districts in the Northeast. The poll was conducted for the Maine and New Hampshire primary polls, respectively.
banc had been instrumental in changing the composition of the Democratic caucus to include minority and non-Hispanic female voters. Among other efforts, both parties have actively participated in the process to change the composition of the party’s base in Maine and New Hampshire.
banc’s primary objective was to provide information to the public on how the Democrats represent Maine and New Hampshire. The banc poll conducted by MBPB showed that the state Republican Congressional Candidate, Jim Doyle*, earned an unfavowed 16.2% of the vote in the state, while the Maine House Republican Candidate, Joe Wilson

Strengthening the relations to wholesalers enhancing on the same time the global distribution of our products would be also an important strategic object giving perspectives for growth.
4.3 Market NeedsThe demand for bakery products has been steadily increased over the last years. That could be seen as a consequence of the increase in population of local residents and most importantly of the change in Cypriots consuming behavior. The spectrum of products demanded has been also increased. Consumers are now more conscious about their expectations as they are better informed about the trends and products in the global markets. They are now asking for convenience and service in addition to healthy products with fresh ingredients and high quality standards.
Zorbas responds to that change by improving its technology and facilities ensuring this way the quality in preparation and on the same time scale economies. We are permanently introducing new differentiated products monitoring continuously the quality and freshness of ingredients. For the convenience of our customers we expand our retail store networks screening carefully the location and we introduce delivery services. Our employees are permanently supervised and trained for reaching excellence in service.
4.4 Market TrendsCypriots over the last years have become conscious about their health. There are some clear indications of a trend in the market for biological products and for traditional products that have proved to be very healthy. Additionally, customers ask for products and services beyond the traditional function of bakeries. Cafes or restaurants offerings are now also required in a Bakery store.
Zorbas bakeries have responded to those opportunities betimes redefining or readjusting its strategy to this direction.4.5 Industry AnalysisThe Cyprus Bakery market is one of the largest markets in the food industry. The total volume (despite the lack in systematic recording) is estimated approximately just under 40 millions units. There are three principal sectors that constitute the Cyprus baking industry. The larger (plant) baking companies (including Zorbas Bakeries) produce around 30% of bakery products sold in Cyprus. In-store Bakeries within supermarkets produce the 20% and high street retail bakers the rest 50%.
