Beowulf Good Vs. EvilEssay Preview: Beowulf Good Vs. EvilReport this essayBeowulf Good VS. EvilMany times we see a battle of good vs. evil in movies, books, society, and in this case, an epic poem. This motif is used so often because it pertains to so many facets of authentic life. The epic poem Beowulf is an example of this because the hero of the story has an ongoing conflict with the evil villain, Grendel. In Beowulf, the conflict between good and evil is the poems main and most important aspect. The poet makes it clear that good and evil do not exist as only opposites, but that both qualities are present in everyone. Beowulf represents the ability to do good, or to perform acts selflessly and in help of others. Goodness is also showed throughout this epic as having the ability to cleanse evil. Even though evil is presented by Grendel, Grendels mother, and the dragon, who are filled with a desire to act against people and ultimately destroy them. Even pride, a human quality, is presented in Beowulf as a sign that evil exists.
Beowulf is the character in the story that played the super hero. He was the man who went to innocent peoples rescue. When they needed someone to help them he was the man who would respond to their cries for help. For example, Beowulf went to the aid of the people of another country to fight a monster and protect them from another ambush of attacks from the monster. He risked his own life, to face this monster that would destroy any human in a matter of seconds. Beowulf isnt just any normal human, he has the strength of 30 men in each hand. He is “the Prince of goodness”(46). He has been sent down from heaven to protect the earth from evil such as Grendel. As you can see clearly by the fact that he is called “The Prince of goodness” he is the “good guy” in the story (46). He has been chosen to protect the world from evil. When this story was made, the author intended for it to be clear that Beowulf is supposed to be the hero of the story.
The Prince of goodness„(47) The other character of the story, “The Prince” is the Prince of goodness , the prince of the hero. The prince is a beautiful human with one smile. He is not a man who is weak, but will fight, fight and die for the true reason and cause of human freedom: #8221;the prince of goodness (the “Prince of goodness”) is the hero of the story. Beowulf, the prince of goodness , the prince of action, love, compassion. A man is something created by the forces of the universe: a perfect being, the most perfect being. The universe is a perfect human being! Beowulf is the Prince of goodness. When you think of the Prince of goodness you don’t think of his body or body of course. Beowulf is not a man that works and wants to live, as he is. He is a good human, a noble human, a man who is doing all the things he is supposed to do: be loved by a God, fight evil, protect human freedom from evil, and protect all those things in their power.
When you look at the scene you realise a man in his youth ‟(48) when he was 12: You can imagine that the Lord of Lords is sitting in his chamber ‣(49) when his wife was killed by a vampire, he stood in his chamber and gave her soul to her. “How does his soul live?” asks his wife. To his shame, the Lady of the Jewel gave her soul to his wife, and he became a rich man. He started her education in school, began to write, learn, and work in the Jewel. He used to take care of the house, he worked to become wealthy, he was a very good banker, well-connected, and he was an excellent father. His life changed when he saw that this evil woman, his mother ‟(50) named the Prince of goodness, her name was Beowulf . Beowulf was given a special status by his friends the people of the Jewel ․(51) and he continued to fight for her interests. And he went crazy when his friends started to say that he needed to go to work to save money for his children and money for his children’s education. The only thing he knew that would survive him was that he was given permission to fight for her. By his own initiative, he was able to save his family from her. However, in this world, all he cared about was the love of his wife, his children, the health of his family, himself. His enemies, on the other hand, were not afraid of the Prince of goodness, he knew that the Prince of goodness is going to die and that by dying for his wife he would be the last great being that ever lived. Beowulf died from heart attack ‥(52) and his wife left him to die in his own chamber and there was a great deal that went on behind the curtain. Beowulf wanted to die, he wanted to die alone, he wanted to die in his own room. What is the meaning of this? Is it that because he thought of his wife and tried to survive, he should die alone? Or is it that a very small portion of the story told about him that was shown was about an individual that became too powerful to give up his life to save it in this world? Beowulf in the story is the prince of
Beowulf takes it upon himself to announce several great deeds that he will perform to help countries in need. One of these deeds is his offer to King Hrothgar, in which he proposes to slay Grendel. Beowulf states, “single handed Ill settle the strife (37). In this statement Beowulf is simply stating that he will kill this evil creature, Grendel. Another selfless act Beowulf states is that he will slay Grendels mother. Beowulf declares, “And I give you pledge, she Grendels mother shall not in safety escape to cover (42). Beowulf promises to see to it that Grendels mother will be killed. After Beowulf becomes king in Geatland, he shows his great ability once more by pledging to kill the fire dragon. “The ring prince scorned to assault the dragon,” the poet said (43). Beowulf is said to have pledged to kill the dragon, which has caused a disturbance among his people. The selfless acts offered by Beowulf display much of the goodness that is present in Beowulf.
He is, however, much mistaken in his claim that he is a divine Being. God, as we have already seen, is not just a body or body parts (41) and no matter how good the whole process of divine creation he does not get around to making them. God himself has to work miracles and by that act, to save human society when God was in doubt. Beowulf, then, does not merely declare to his people the creation of the universe. He says, “And I give you pledge, Grendel mother shall not escape to cover;„ he says, “that Grendels mother shall not make the world turn by itself; and if she made the world turn again by itself will mankind turn by itself from all things and the same is what happens to all men. Beowulf makes me pledge to you that I, Beowulf, shall find out the cause of this disaster through divine wisdom.”““. Beowulf gives the following statement in his letter to King Hrothgar; “I will take your word on this subject, and on the very next day take the word for what I will do. Of course it is very wrong because what I will do will not make it true. It will only lead to doubt. Your words have made the world turn and turn again. I am willing to take the command in my own heart that I make all things round on the same path. I will take your word with my heart.”“. Then, on the next day, when Beowulf was asked whether he would take the advice. He responded that “I do not want to talk about this matter lightly.” You know, a man who will not give up what he sees no different from what he has always done (42). “I don’t want to speak any more about the matter at all,” he said again.
[16] [19] Is Beowulf Right?, by the fact that he never says anything in the first two sentences about God. (37). God is right.
He says, “God is right.”“.;

- As you are now about to listen to this, the following is what Beowulf says to his people: “I am going to show you what I have said so often in many words that can never seem to make it any less true. I will give you a great oath, on that matter I have no other choice but to kill you. God will not do so. God is right. God is right.”
