Introduction
Habib construction is one the biggest construction companies in Pakistan, which is being operated worldwide. Their major clients are NLC, C&W department, LDA TEPA, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), SIAL, NESPAK and ECSP with which they are working for years several years now. Their major projects include Construction of Flyover Bridge at Kalma Chowk Intersection, Construction of Flyover Bridge at Muslim Town Intersection, Construction of Model Town Underpass, Construction of Kalma Underpass, various packages of Lahore Metro Bus Project and Construction of Flyover Bridges in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala and many others.
Incorporated in 2007, Habib Construction did not take long to emerge as a resourceful company with an appreciable potential of doing the fast track works. The paradigmatic on time completion of mega projects gradually helped to earn a reputation of credibility among the social circles and the construction market virtually all over the country. HCS knows that the success of the company lies among the hardworking employees which is why they are given a lot of importance. The company follows an integrative bargaining style by taking decision which are beneficial for both employees as well as the organization.
There are four different levels in the company. First you have your labour, followed by site managers, then you have middle managers and then comes the top management. The HRM of the company is very strong therefore whenever a conflict arises, it is solved effectively. Company’s environment is very casual. All employees sit together for lunch. Everyone speaks in Punjabi. Lower management can talk to top management whenever they want.
The work environment is quite healthy. Hardly an employee ever leaves the organizations which is why the employee turnover of the company is low. There is a freedom of speech as even the lower management can communicate their opinions and ideas with the upper management without any hesitation. There is a communal relationship among the employees of the organization. Every employee is like a family and is a very important asset of the company.
