Emergency Contraception
Essay title: Emergency Contraception
Emergency Contraception
The Emergency Contraception is a birth control pill that prevents pregnancy after having sex. It is also known as “the morning after pill,” or “the day after pill.” Emergency contraception, though not as effective as birth control used during or before sex, makes it much less likely for a woman to get pregnant. The pill works by preventing or delaying ovulation, the time in a woman’s cycle when her ovaries release an egg. If the pill is taken before fertilization, it could make it harder for the egg and sperm to travel in a woman’s reproductive tract. The pill can also work after fertilization by making it impossible for the fertilized egg to implant in a woman’s uterus.
In today’s society certain people believe it is their right to have a say in a woman’s decision regarding emergency contraception. They pose arguments such as: its abortion, that’s interfering with God’s plan and it’s just an excuse for women to have unprotected sex! Thought they pose respectable arguments, I believe emergency contraceptives to be a great option for women placed in rough situations.

The last thing I remembered was being at the restaurant. I slowly got off the bed and started to look for my clothes. It was like a dream. I felt like I was under water. I found most of my clothes in a pile by the door. I looked for my purse to find my cell phone, but whom would I call? My parents would be furious. I didnt even know what happened. But, I had to call someone. Then, it all started to sink in and my head became clear. It did happen to me. I had been raped.
When this situation occurs many women find themselves with few choices. One choice that some choose to take is the emergency contraceptive, also known as the morning after pill. This pill has been seen as a very controversial topic with many viewpoints to consider.
Abortion?
The morning after pill is in no way abortion. This pill is taken the morning after having unprotected sex and that is nowhere close to the time needed for the baby to be made, it can take as long as several days. For a baby to be made the males sperm has
