Blood Donation, a Problem
Blood Donation, a Problem
1.4.3 Insufficient Measures To Inform People Of Most Convenient Platform. Shorten this and make it more formalAs of now, there are only measures to inform people about blood donation platforms, such as locations and timings of mobile blood vans. However, the locations and timings will not appeal to the people, unless the people could find the most convenient location and time to donate. Right now, donorweb.org, a website that gives information about location and timings of blood vans in Singapore, does not provide the most convenient route and time for people to donate. Specific timings and locations that cater to specific schedules of people have to be provided in order to let people know that blood donation can be quick and convenient and hence encourage blood donation. Sadly, all current measures such as newspaper and donorweb.org only provides raw information that does not specifically cater to individuals, and people would not want to spend the time sorting out the informationWWF is an organization that runs several humanitarian projects, aiming to aid conservation of wildlife. Similar to our proposal to minimize wastage of opportunities to save lives, WWF aims to conserve wildlife and environment.2.2 RELATION OF WWF TO OUR PROJECT[pic 1]2.2.1 Education for Sustainable Development – The power of interactive exhibition)[pic 2]The ESD programme at Maipo, Hongkong provides a unique exhibition for students by allowing them to learn and interact with the greenery and wildlife. An interactive education allows students to learn at their own pace which is a more engaging way of education.[1] ( interactive main concept= learn at own pace?)Adaptation:[pic 3]We will impart knowledge about blood donation through an interactive exhibition in the form of a maze, unlike usual exhibitions which generally consist of passive learning.(purpose of mention of maze here)(Footnote usual=passive learning otherwise too generalized)2.2.2 Earth Hour’s I Will If You Will (IWIYW) Campaign-

(The Power of Social Media)Earth hour’s IWIYW campaign allows one to pledge an action towards the conservation of the environment if others pledge to do so. The concept of “dare” provides peer motivation[2]  (     (No mention about social media~)In 2011, more than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries switched off the lights for Earth Hour with aid of social media to spread the message[3], proving the effectiveness of social media.Adaptation:Social media is an effective tool for engaging the masses to encourage community effort. This will be a more effective method as youths are motivated to donate blood. (WHY?) the research and footnote is in chapter one root cause.2.2.3The Waterside Challenge Application – (The Power of Technology)The Waterside Challenge Application was introduced to allow exploration of natural environments at one’s convenience.  It allows one to learn more about nature at their convenience and attracts youths to utilise it as well.[4] (EXPLANATION-LEARN WHAT)[pic 4]Screenshot of the applicationSource:
