Brazil X Usa
Essay title: Brazil X Usa
Brazil X United States
It is known that countries in the world have their differences; and talking about Brazil and the United States is in the same line. Overall, the culture in these two big countries is the main contrast between them. People from both countries may like or dislike their own country or the other, but it is impossible to say which country is better because it varies from person to person. However, it is impossible not to realize the big differences in the culture of Brazil and United States. Lifestyle, Food, and Security are the biggest differences of the countries when viewed against each other.

Lifestyle is, maybe, the most different point among Brazil and the United States. While in the United States people have well paid wages and salaries, in Brazil a lot of people pray to have any job. In the United States, you rarely see people living in bad conditions; in Brazil, watching people asking for food is our “postcard”. The houses have completely different styles. In the US, you see many more houses made of wood than you do in Brazil, even in small cities. In Brazil, most houses are made by bricks and cement. The culture has affected the personality of the people in each country. In general, people in the United States are more extravagant, outgoing, liberal, and open minded. In Brazil people have a less extravagant behavior. It does not mean that Brazilian people are difficult to deal or to have as friends, but they kind of have a more contained behavior (a behavior that does not call such attention) than Americans. I can prove that saying what everybody knows: Brazilians do have a reputation of being nice, sociable, and welcoming. Each culture set each country; it is not something that people choose. Whatever the culture is, the politicians, who represent and “take care” of its respectively country, leave a lot to be desired in public cares in Brazil. Seeing people asking for money in the biggest Brazilian cities is not a big deal. It became usual with the time. Most Brazilian streets are destroyed, old, and the government does not fix them, while, in the USA, the streets are clean and renovated if needed, and there are no homeless and/or poor people walking on the streets trying to get money in someway, or even trying to get something to eat. Even so, many people would prefer live in Brazil. It is a kind place to live though; they have good facilities, people are nice and friendly, and the part that most foreign people go there for when visiting the country: the beautiful beaches, landscapes, and the easy way that Brazilians can fit and control difficult situations. Even in the most difficult events or problems, Brazilian people never give up their objectives or whatever they want.

Another big, big difference between Brazil and the United States is the food. Basically, in the USA, we almost can only find fast-food restaurants, which some people ironically call “fat-food”, because the quantity of fat in one meal is nonsense. Otherwise, when you go out in Brazil looking for something to eat, you can find a bunch of different places, including fast-food. In general, Brazil provides a bigger diversity of food. You can find an amount of different restaurants of Italian food, Brazilian Food, Arab Food, and even American Food. For breakfast, Americans, in general, eat a lot of egg, hamburgers, bacon, and drink a lot of soft drinks. Brazilians prefer more healthy foods like fruits, cereal, and milk. For lunch, Americans have fried chicken, fried fish, and all kind of fried food you can imagine. In Brazil, people try to have fried food only once or twice a week, rarely three times. I would not say that they care so much about their health, but it is cultural; they “learned” that way. For dinner, Brazilians vary a lot. Sometimes they have a light meal sometimes they do not; while Americans keep eating fried Chicken, fried fish, fried pork, or whatever they fry. This is not generalized. It is not everybody in the US that eats egg and bacon everyday, but most people do; and of course, in Brazil, some people have a menu more likely an American person, but that is unusual. Most Brazilian people who go to the United States feel the difference between these two types of meals; and Americans, when go to Brazil, do not feel such a big difference as Brazilians
